I have truly outdone myself in developing the most ridiculously random software. I was trying to port my blackjack game 21c to PSX/PS1 when I realized something. Porting Open95Keygen would be way easier. 10 minutes later, it is legit working in the PCSXR emulator. Press X to generate random windows 95/NT 4.0 retail and OEM keys, on a PS1, is not a meme. Might make this look a little more legit before testing this on a real console (yes I have to see this on a burned CD-R) before doing a release. I think I need a FMV intro before you can press X tho (actually can't do that with this SDK lol).

Anyone want to design a background image? Not much of a graphical designer.

To use this you need to break the PSX copy protection (except on the launch model japanese PSX? I heard this might have buggy copy protection that doesn't even prevent backups from booting, all I know is I need one to find out), to break the Windows 95/NT 4.0 copy protection. Copy protection-inception.

Cool - I'd be interested in seeing what the PB is actually pushing to the monitor. I've run 2560×1440 and 3840×2400 from my PBs (A1085 and A1106) but there were graphical glitches at the ultra-high rez.
Sorry for the delay, I just connected my PB G4 to my AOC 34" Ultrawide.

Here is the "About this Mac" info:

Here is the Graphics/Displays info from System Info:

Pleasantly surprised to see the external monitor being driven at 60 Hz.

Cool, thanks! :D 1920×1080 at 60 Hz is no problem via single-link DVI. If you want to have a play with SwitchResX and find out if your monitor accepts that, try 2560×1440 at 41 Hz (CVT-RB).
I have downloaded v3.8.7 of SwitchResX, I will give it a try. Most likely after I install Tiger (should be getting Tiger and Leopard DVD install discs in the mail today).

I have downloaded v3.8.7 of SwitchResX,
Your display's specs list a minimum refresh rate of 48 Hz. If it turns out not to accept less than 48 Hz indeed, then the "best" resolution (as in: making full use of your display's height) attainable via single-link DVI at that refresh rate is 2176×1440 (when using CVT-RB timing).

# 2176x1440x47.95 @ 70.634kHz
Modeline "2176x1440x47.95" 165.000000 2176 2224 2256 2336 1440 1443 1447 1473 +HSync -VSync

@Captain Trips - I had a look at the manual (I really need to stop obsessing over displays LOL!) Turns out 2560×1080 at 50 Hz is supported which fits within the pixel clock constraints of single-link DVI and maintains the correct 21:9 aspect ratio; as is 3440×1440 at 30 Hz which would also work but exhibit graphical artifacts and other anomalies due to the Radeon 9700 (my tests showed them to appear after a width of about 2656 pixels).

Although I won't primarily use the PowerBook with an external monitor, it is definitely nice to have the option. And having 2560 x 1080 @ 50 Hz is probably the optimal resolution when I do use the AOC with the PB.

And hey, obsessing over monitors and computer is perfectly fine in my book! 💻

Just like macbookprodude, I just (yesterday) purchased a PowerBook G4 (17", not DLSD) from eBay. Can't wait to get it. I will upgrade the memory to 2GB soon, and later put in a SSD when I have the time and am feeling adventuresome. There was no one good picture showing the entire laptop since the pictures focused on parts of it to show the condition, so I'll just show the screen shot of the System Report and the specs in the title of the eBay page.

[Edit: It actually has an HDD, not an SSD - I confirmed with the seller before purchasing. This is why I will eventually do an HDD to SSD swap.]

Good find ! But make sure this PowerBook G4 doesn’t have the memory issue - one memory slot faulty and not working - I believe these issues took place on the models before the DLSD came out.

Thanks for the heads-up. I have seen others mention that problem. I have ordered 2 1 GB memory chips, so I will find out when the chips arrive and I put them in my PowerBook.

Did you know you can't copyright an algorithm? Open95Keygen is actually legit legal:
"Copyright covering algorithms can only be applied once the programmer converts the algorithm into source code. The copyright of the source code can be used to protect that code from being copied, but will not prevent others from independently creating their own source code which does the same thing."
Well that's one thing the copyright system has implemented correctly...
Open95Keygen PSX is now real btw: https://alex-free.github.io/open95keygen-psx/

May try setting up a PPC Mac PSX SDK and see what happens, it might actually work.

Technically yesterday, but....

Synced up my iPod again. I dropped it one time (just one!) and the battery and connector broke off the logic board, necessitating a replacement. It arrived yesterday and the swap was rather effortless.

Now it thinks it's pink. Existential Crisis it is.

Featuring newly-rekeyed Twelve.

Kickstarted a G4 Cube with a hair dryer, and playd some sounds, Sosumi, SubMarine etc. Inspected the specs of the machine and enjoyed this all a lot. Of Course I opened it up too, because it's ridiculously easy.

Now I'm diving through my drawers to find that RAM module to fill it up. From 1GB to 1,5GB.

Currently trying to rescue an 80GB Maxtor startup drive in my old G4 sawtooth stored in a closet for 12 years. It initially booted, then shutdown when I started looking in folders. Disk Warrior CD has been working for hours now, I'm not optimistic.

@RadHaz
I hope you imaged it before and DiskWarrior is working on that image file (can it even do that?)
I made the mistake to try to rescue a drive for a friend running during days multiple times to try to get the data off and that continuous run time wrecked the dying drive finally. The image i got out of this was useless and now the drive won't even be recognized when connected where it would transfer succesfull folders when I started the whole process.
The only thing i got out of this was the lesson learned and a copy of DiskWarrior i purchased as i was desperate.
