Sorry for the delay, I just connected my PB G4 to my AOC 34" Ultrawide.Cool - I'd be interested in seeing what the PB is actually pushing to the monitor. I've run 2560×1440 and 3840×2400 from my PBs (A1085 and A1106) but there were graphical glitches at the ultra-high rez.
Cool, thanks! 1920×1080 at 60 Hz is no problem via single-link DVI. If you want to have a play with SwitchResX and find out if your monitor accepts that, try 2560×1440 at 41 Hz (CVT-RB).Pleasantly surprised to see the external monitor being driven at 60 Hz.
I have downloaded v3.8.7 of SwitchResX, I will give it a try. Most likely after I install Tiger (should be getting Tiger and Leopard DVD install discs in the mail today).Cool, thanks! 1920×1080 at 60 Hz is no problem via single-link DVI. Your display's specs list a minimum refresh rate of 48 Hz. If it turns out not to accept less than 48 Hz indeed, then the "best" resolution (as in: making full use of your display's height) attainable via single-link DVI at that refresh rate is 2176×1440 (when using CVT-RB timing).I have downloaded v3.8.7 of SwitchResX,
Although I won't primarily use the PowerBook with an external monitor, it is definitely nice to have the option. And having 2560 x 1080 @ 50 Hz is probably the optimal resolution when I do use the AOC with the PB.@Captain Trips - I had a look at the manual (I really need to stop obsessing over displays LOL!) Turns out 2560×1080 at 50 Hz is supported which fits within the pixel clock constraints of single-link DVI and maintains the correct 21:9 aspect ratio; as is 3440×1440 at 30 Hz which would also work but exhibit graphical artifacts and other anomalies due to the Radeon 9700 (my tests showed them to appear after a width of about 2656 pixels).
Hi, no.. it is aluminum. Is that a Titanium? I still have one ... it's metal was too thin ...
Good find ! But make sure this PowerBook G4 doesn’t have the memory issue - one memory slot faulty and not working - I believe these issues took place on the models before the DLSD came out.Just like macbookprodude, I just (yesterday) purchased a PowerBook G4 (17", not DLSD) from eBay. Can't wait to get it. I will upgrade the memory to 2GB soon, and later put in a SSD when I have the time and am feeling adventuresome. There was no one good picture showing the entire laptop since the pictures focused on parts of it to show the condition, so I'll just show the screen shot of the System Report and the specs in the title of the eBay page.
[Edit: It actually has an HDD, not an SSD - I confirmed with the seller before purchasing. This is why I will eventually do an HDD to SSD swap.]

Thanks for the heads-up. I have seen others mention that problem. I have ordered 2 1 GB memory chips, so I will find out when the chips arrive and I put them in my PowerBook.Good find !
