What have you done with a PowerPC today?

If you right click on those stream links you get the option to save the .pls file. That's what you add to iTunes.

Hi, its not working.. I saved it and it just says this:

Ok, so I did this on my Pismo under Tiger. It works.. but then i saved the file and went into OS 9 and dragged/dropped it into iTunes - while it says its there.. I notice the url is http, but its not playing. Weird.

I may just retire this whole entire project - OS 9 nostalgia is turning out to not be so much nostalgia, but a lot of work and time.. I have been up many long hours getting this to work.. seems OS 9 is only good for audio/vidio/ word processing and light tasks.. can't even listen to simple songs. i HATE STEVE JOBS and forcing us to drop good hardware at the time.

I think radio is dead you would need the iTunes source code to do anything as far as I can tell.

I think your best shot is to use that TLS 1.2 library that requires the retro68k toolchain to compile, but you’d need to figure out how to compile Classilla with it.

Dude, forget the whole thing. I may just retire this OS 9 nostalgia.. which I missed out on a lot.. Had I have known in 2005-2010, 2010 that os 9 was still fully functional I would have done so back then.. but no, my life had circles around it. Sometimes i just want to end my life and hopefully soul travel back to the past to relive the happy times of my life. Its a disgrace that OS 9 can't do any of the things that windows 2000/windows 98 as of now can do.. and no damn help from the Amigans either.

Yes, I figured it out for Tiger, but iTunes in OS 9 won’t work for some reason though it says streaming no volume and it’s turned up to max on my Pismo.

I copied the .pls file into iTunes 2.0.4, but nothing it’s not working - Perhaps you can provide me the steps ? I also tried typing in http://www.sonomafm.com/ name of .pls and it did not work.

At the moment I am falling into a very SEVERE depression due to COVID-19 and this OS 9 nostalgia I have is turning into a nightmare. Does anything at all work on this thing ? DVD Player works but still getting a popping sound.
 
I feel like my PB G4 Leopard can do so much more. I might just do that.

As far as url is concerned, will classila even load up to get the url ? Certainly you can’t copy it from an intel Mac and put it on a thumb drive and then place the thumb drive in os 9 and drag it into iTunes as iTunes 2.0.4 doesn’t know what a .pls file is. Yeah I think I am going to take a break from OS 9 as it’s causing depression and with covid 19 it’s making me think negatively on life.
 
Today, I copied files remotely using scp and smb, filled out a PDF form, printed it, scanned it, and saved as PDF. Shutdown a raspberry pi from the PowerPC Mac.
 
Nothing happens.. it goes into iTunes, but no volume, nothing, though the apple bar shows its playing - and my volume is all the way up. This was earlier yesterday afternoon. i am too depressed and upset to take out my pismo and try it again. Its been a very very traumatic day for me. I am fighting a war against those who want to kill old browsers and getting my Pismo to do what i need it to do under OS 9. So, far my results have not been good. And yes, its my faulty because I slept for over 15 years and work up to realize my OS 9 won't run anymore the way it did back in 2000-2001. I blame the Google for it and all those who want the TLS apocalypse. In revenge for this, i AM running netscape in high sierra and yes, I access my bank account.. couldn't do anything with it, but I don't care.

Anyway, nothing plays.. but I did copy the url.
 
Sound preferences ? I have platinum sounds - I will check tomorrow. I am using Netscape on high sierra so google can see me not have a secure browser. I am really depressed right now.

So far all I've done with a PPC machine (Summer '01 iMac G3) today is wake it from sleep and attempt to install 10.4 from USB again. Has been rather fruitless but I have a feeling that it'll go in due time.
 
What does it do exactly ? My mind is in a very warlike state and I can’t concentrate as if I want to harm something. My hatred of google and Mozilla is getting to me.
 
Despite my shared dislike of Google, neither they or Mozilla are responsible for HTTPS / TLS.

When the Web became professional (due to widespread adoption), better security to handle personal information and active browsing was proposed, implemented, then standardized. At the time, Google and Mozilla were faced with two choices:

1, Reject the Web's new security requirements and get left behind into obscurity (because people don't want to use known insecure venues and infrastructures; if nobody uses it, it's unsustainable to keep active)

2, Accept the Web's new security requirements and remain relevant to most people's lives

Quite simply, the following events were out of their hands if they wished to keep in business.

What is it about OS 9 that you are paining to reconnect with? The user experience? The software? The memories?

Or perhaps something about the world at the time it was current?
