I leaft the idea to use my home systems as servers long ago :D. For such purposes I've build cheap server-grade box with OpenMediaVault installed. Now all files I need - transferred to it.

Do somebody here knows which powermacs can boot from GPT? I know that G5 can (at least PCI-Ex based :D ). I'm thinking about rebuild of my installer-drive with GPT, because APM is limited in partition number. But the idea is to be able to boot from most wide number of mac models :).

I’m kinda disappointed the GeForce4 I bought off Amazon is only 32MB. The listing was for a 64MB card. Some of the games I wanted from the garden required a 64MB card. 🥲

Can you return it and insist on the correct model to be sent?
Already contacted they wouldn't exchange it. Not a huge deal, I'll keep it. I also wanted a DVI card to go with a cool braided DVI/HDMI cable I already had. I also wanted a card still compatible with OS 9. I might keep looking for something else. I have been contemplating going for a SATA PCI card and some larger SSD's. I got some more ram coming next week to go to 1.5GB.

Added a new FW 800 PCI card to my Sawtooth to replace the one that had stopped working awhile back. So far, so good, the card works. Also moved the HDD I had in the Zip bay down to the bottom of the case, under the SSD. I had to move the SSD, so that the SATA to IDE adapter lined up with the HDD's IDE port, which meant I had to screw the SSD into the side of the bracket instead of the bottom like it was before. Thanks to the screw holes on the bottom of the bracket being sunken in and only being able to use one screw on the side of the bracket to secure the SSD since only one hole on the side of the bracket lined up with one of the SSD's holes, I had to use electrical tape to tape the SSD to the bracket to help secure it. The SSD isn't totally flush with the bracket anymore, but it is secure and still working.

Also started using my edimax USB wifi adapter again, just to see how it compares to my ethernet to wifi bridge. Doesn't feel any different to using the ethernet to wifi bridge method so far. I stopped using the edimax when I put OS 9 on here, but now that I have decided to go OS X only on here, I figured why not give it another go?

The new FW 800 card doesn't work as well as I thought it did. Like the last one I had, the copying speeds are extremely slow. I get messages like "2.0MB copied 13 hours remaining" to copy a 3 GB file. I wait for about 5 minutes, come back and see "4.0 MB copied 13 hours remaining." I put the card in a different slot and disconnected it from molex power, same thing happens. I know it's not the cable or the external SSD I'm using since I had just used both with my 2006 MBP. I think I've given up on having FW 800 on this machine. If I want FW 800 on a Power Mac, I think I'll just get a G5.

Edimax wifi dongle started randomly disconnecting me, so I have gone back to my ethernet to wireless bridge adpater.

Tried out the first version of Sorbet Leopard and so far things are running well.

Googled a bit - official site don't mention what chip used. But if I can understand their photo correctly - some kind of TI.
FireBoard 800
This a bit more informative.

Some more or less crazy ideas :). Check firmware upgrades for your cards. Check cables. Check drives (if I understood correctly - you using some kind of hard drive ?). If you have another mac with firewire - try testing it with this cards in Target Mode. May be something will show you some hints..?

Even more silly question :).
How much bootable icons G5Quad (or maybe all of them) can handle? Currently I've got 3 linuxes + 4 Mac OS versions (10.4 &.5 Server & Desktop). If I'm connecting my multi-installer FW-drive - there are 12 of them. Made an experiment - restored to unused partition of FW-drive 1 more MacOs version & didn't seen it in Boot-picker. Can I do something with it instead of booting from OF?

Had some time today, and a spare drive, so...
Installed @z970 's Sorbet on the dual 2ghz G5 and loaded it up with some goodies like @Dronecatcher 's VLSEE. Now listening to @pipetogrep 's podcast via InterWebPPC, and catching up on discord chat logs via DiscordPPC. Sometimes it's actually fun to start fresh without using backups. :)

Cleaned up and brought my iBook G3 800mhz back with a new working keyboard; one that doesn't smell like dirty socks, albeit slightly yellowed. I should have snapped a photo of the mold-encrusted original keyboard before trashing it. Oops. Someday, I'll take it apart and clean the seams of the dirt and (likely) mold. Listening to some jazz radio in iTunes at the moment (downloaded the .pls)...

Loving the Russian YouTube proxy site (video.2yxa.mobi). Thanks to @Dronecatcher for the tip...
