Mine is a 3rd Gen IPP 12.9". I'll probably spring for a new 13" IPP with a MKB, but no pencil. Haven't decided on memory yet, but at least 512k. And likely the cellular version.

Do I truly need the Pro? No. Would a 13" Air work? Probably. But I want the OLED display. I'll be using it for viewing maps, writing, spreadsheets, some light CAD work, and eventually photo editing. Anything else will be done on my 2020 i7 Mac Mini.

Fortunately it will be tax deductible.

I have the M1 11" Pro and I may upgrade for the brighter and better screen and better battery life but want to see it in person first at Best buy. $1400CAD is 40% more what I paid for my M1 Pro in January of 2022, so it has to be a night and day difference for me to pay that. Plus would have to get the new pencil too and a new Combo Touch case when it comes out.

Unless the Pencil 2 is compatible with the new ipad pros?

I have my trusty 2018 iPad Pro, and I don’t plan on upgrading.

The new iPads look amazing, but my current iPad does exactly what I want it to do.

What about you?
Same I-ad as yours. But my screen is yellowing. Changing to ipp 11

I've an 2015 iPad Pro and lately only use it to read books using the Kindle app. I see no reason to upgrade to a new iPad. However, Google is offering a straight trade-in offer for the Google Pixel Tablet - $399 for $399. May go for that

I’m the same - I have the original 2015 12.9 inch iPad Pro. I use it to read sheet music while practicing on a daily basis and it still does this without issue. I’m tempted to get the iPad Air 12.9 inch as I can’t stand Face ID and don’t need the power of an M4. It will be nice to have a new device that I can update the software on again but I can’t shake the feeling that I won’t notice any difference at all in my day to day….. I’ll wait on some reviews and check it out in the store!

We have: iPad Pro 10.5 (2017), iPad Pro 12.9 (2017)
Planning on upgrading to: 2 iPad Pro 11's, though I might go 13" once I see it in person.

Desperately need to upgrade as these 2017 pros are struggling with websites and multitasking. Also were plagued with some light panel issues that were common in the Pros from this time. Cannot wait!!

I wrote an entire novel on that thing! I miss it so much. It was a tank - I had the create keyboard with it.

I currently have three iPads:
  • iPad Mini 5 - used for controlling music (Sonos, Apple Music), websurfing and reading in cases where portability and also serves as my alarm clock. It has become a bit sluggish and this is probably the device that needs an upgrade most. Sadly, no iPad Mini 7, or even iPad Mini Pro, so far (and iPad Mini 6 is not an option as I am among the people bothered by the jelly scrolling)
  • iPad Pro 11" (2020) - main device for reading eBooks and websurfing on the couch, also fine for A5/digest PDFs. This one doesn't really need an upgrade.
  • iPad Pro 12.9" (2020) - used for sketching and reading/annotating A4/letter PDFs. Mostly fine, but PDFs with complex graphics or a lot of transparency are an issue. I'm slightly tempted to upgrade, but pricing on the new iPads is a bit prohibitive over here. So I think, I'll wait for another year or two, before I upgrade
Maybe promotion and the M4 will come to the iPad Air at some point - this would be an alternative for both Pros, then.

I have a base M1 iPad Air 5, and while I would enjoy the bigger screen and pencil pro support, I feel like the upgrade just isn’t worth it because I already can’t use the peak performance of M1, so why would I need M2 Or M4? I’m probably going to keep it around another generation or two.

Will the pencil 2 work on the new iPad pro? I see nothing wrong with the performance on it.

Air 4 64GB. I’m most happy with the performance, except the occasional blip when loading too many music AUv3’s into AUM, but the new base model Air 13” would give me double the storage and a bigger screen, as well as a bit of future proofing speed-wise.

So yeah, tempted by the 13” Air…

No upgrade.

12” Pro from 2018, 12” Pro from 2021, Mini 6. The Mini 6 is the only one I use regularly — field notes, mostly. I won’t be upgrading because I’m no longer interested in the larger Pro form factor. MacBook Air and Mini 6 are a great combo for me.

M2 12.9” iPP. Waiting on WWDC and seeing matte finish ”live” although even so, I do not expect to upgrade yet. HOWEVER, I have thought that before… and even at this announcement I wasn't expecting them to announce such a massive upgrade to my hardware dislikes on the present iPad…

Finding it difficult to make a sensible decision as will only upgrade one of my iPads. I prefer the 12.9 size and the A12Z to M4 would be good upgrade but is 300 more than 11 inch which I could p/ex for about 400 but is already quick enough and I would want cellular which is 200 more. So I think I will wait to see in store before deciding, perhaps the weight difference is significant. Have no need of MK so that will save a bit, but will need new case as well.

I had the iPad Pro 12.9 512GB 2020 cellular plus pencil, which I only just sold about a month ago.

I honestly didn't benefit from it because of its size and weight with the keyboard. And as I already had a 16-inch MacBook Pro, it was too close in size to be of any real benefit. I have just upgraded my 16-inch MacBook Pro to the M3 Max.

I am now retired and often find myself in a pub or out somewhere, spending a lot of time reading my iPhone 15 Pro Max, the iPad 11 inch could take over this. My ideal set-up would now be buying the smaller 11-inch iPad Pro with the keyboard, which would allow me to travel on holidays without the bulk of a laptop.

I never used my iPad Pro 12.9 in bed; it was too big and awkward. I think the 11-inch Pro 2024 suits me, as then I have a Mac Studio at home with large screens, the MacBook 16-inch, which I can take away if I want, and this extra portability of the iPad Pro 11-inch for photography backup, media use, using it lightly for editing and video editing with Lightroom and Final Cut Pro.

I am just trying not to let the other be so close that I won't be using one of them. The only thing I could do to reduce it to just two items is to lose the Mac Studio and replace it with the MacBook 16-inch using my CallDigit TS4.

So, this time, it makes sense to go with the iPad Pro 11-inch. Biggest isn't the best for me this time 😊 So I ordered the 11-inch Pro iPad cellular black, of course, collecting from Solihull. Happy Days.

I’m not upgrading. I have two, my favourite iPad ever (the 9.7-inch iPad Pro) and an Air 5. I use them for content consumption, the Air 5 runs its original iOS version (iPadOS 15), and that’s all I ask for a main iOS device. Runs perfectly.
