Not me, but My boss was in Singapore and was fighting with his girlfriend.
Somehow his powerbook wound up being thrown from the balcony.

spilled a beer on the keyboard of my old 12" PB. spilled on the keyboard and bottom part while the top was open and streaming music to my airport express. wiped it off with a damp cloth.

more recently on my 15" PB a girl spilled a mixed drink on the PB (same way as the 12") i built a bar in my apt and often stream music from my PB to my airport express while people are partying and drinking :-/ anyway, i let my PB sit in the mixed drink for a while while i cleaned off the girl's iPod (which was in a nice plastic case and probably more protected than my PB!

and most recently I am currently using my PB . . . probably the worst thing i can do to it right now! i just came from CO where i was using my laptop at about 9800 feet (i was in Frisco CO on spring break) well, the horrible part is apple says that laptops shouldnt be used about 10000 feet. so 9800 is pretty close. well, the HD started making a horrible sound, like scratching metal on metal. i ran a quick disk scan and it said there was a hard disk failure, so i immediately turned off my PB. once i got back down to a reasonable altitude (around 3500 ft right now) i backed up the critical data i had not backed up before the trip (ok the new pictures i took on the trip, i backed up to my iPod)) and i backed up some not so important things that i hadnt previously backed up. (i backed up all my critical data before the trip) anyway, now that im back at 3500 feet i havent heard the sound again, so im still using my PB! not a good thing because my HD is likely to fail at any minute! which reminds me, i should run a scan to check it out now!

I've only had my iBook for a few months, and so far nothing tooo bad has happened to it, although one day when i left it opened and unattended and one of my dear sweet cats chewed on the corner of the monitor portion. Fortunately it's only a few little dots on the plastic and they didn't hit the screen. I treat my iBook as my precious baby, so hopefully nothing too bad happens to it because i think my heart would stop! I was furious when I found out one of my babies chewed on my laptop and that's just cosmetic!

This is going to make me sound like a terrible person...

Backstory: I grew up with Macs, switched to Windows machines when my mom got married and my step-dad couldn't figure out how to work our computer, switched back to Mac several months ago. About 9 or 10 months ago I had an old HP laptop that was on it's last leg, the motherboard finally gave out, so I took the parts out of it and put them into a gutted Gateway that my ex had just laying around. Served me well for about 6 months and then *mysteriously* the motherboard... fried... again... 3rd one I've gone through. (1st-Bacardi 151 + Keyboard, 2nd-Bottle of water + stupid cat.)

Latest Edition: So, I decided to give up on having a laptop altogether, went out and bought the 20" iMac and I'll NEVER turn back. (To Windows anyway, those MBPs are pretty shiny...)

My ex asked if he could have the shell back and see if there was anything he could salvage. I said sure, gave him that and all the still working parts inside it. He figures out that it's still under extended warranty from Gateway so decides to take a trip to Accent and have them take a look at it.

*coughs*

I might mention that uh, I'm a pretty big hippie. And I'm pretty indulgent in... smoking.

Anyhow, the Accent tech opens it up, takes one look at it and FREAKS... I get a call from my ex at the store, he's laughing so hard I can barely understand him... Apparently... when the tech opened it up... every single thing on the inside of it was covered in resin...

*looks innocent*

I've never hurt a Mac though, I'm just INCREDIBLY destructive towards PCs..

I put my iBook G3 in my motorcycle suitcase and dragged it around Africa and South-America for 2 and 1/2 years, on rocks, on sand, across the desert, up and down the Andes, freezing cold, burning hot, and a couple of crashes too. It must have like it somehow: I'm still using it right now. ( http://www.photobiker.com )

Worst thing I've ever done is the only thing I've ever done. I was playing with my Powerbook G4 and I've got some speakers sitting above me. I had my 5g Ipod plugged into the speakers, and was playing some pretty loud music. The bass was obviously a little too high and the speaker fell on my head, cracked my head open, then bounced onto the laptop and cracked the lcd causing both my head and the lcd to bleed a lot. Such a shame. Should have gotten Applecare.

The worst thing I did to my Mac mini (I'll start referring to it as Mac mini No.1 to avoid confusion when No.2 shows up) was buy it, apparently. Airport problems, kernel panics and then a complete failure which means the machine doesn't turn on - it's completely dead. To make matters worse, it has one of my World of Warcraft CD's in it. So, perhaps I should have started a "what is the worst thing your Mac has ever done to you?" thread ;)

I'm sure I'll find my own personal way to inflict revenge on Mac mini No.2.

TBH, ive never really done anything to hurt my PB. the worst thing is probably software related; i installed out of date 3rd party apps that came with the pheripherals when i bought it, causing it to kernel panic repeatedly.

Similar incident as me. Dropped my iBook and spider-glassed the screen. I was able to replace the LCD though.

giving an old retired, but still workable, mac to a young teenage relative...who knew enough about computers to be dangerous and he proceeded to disable some of the software on the machine by erasing parts of it

it had photoshop, illustrator, pagemaker, and appleworks

its not that bad, but one of the times i was using my laptop on my bed it started getting pretty warm (playing itunes and surfing the internet via dial-up) so i decided to put it on my desk, the snap! i hear something then i realized that there was no phone jack connected to it, turns out it broke part of the thing that holds it in so i was stuck being very careful while i had it in.

I have to say myself, the worst thing I've ever done to a mac... neglected to buy one all these years until January when they released the Intel iMac (alltho I did order a G5 iMac in December and amazon had them on backorder, by the time it came in I rejected the order from UPS and purchased a iMac Intel ;) )

I have to say, my wife can not take care of a laptop for the life of her. I gave her my old HP and got me a new one (year and a half ago) My old HP from a few years ago has been beat and beaten again. Don't ask me how but she some how bent the power cord that goes into the laptop to charge it. <- yea I know, most people.. like myself can continue to use a powercord for 10+ years if needed.

She will now be getting my current HP laptop once I purchase a new macbook (ibook).

Power Mac -
Installed Norton, then tried to remove it manually but missed a file that alerted me every time there was an OS update. 2 years later, I realized that there was an official uninstaller.

Installed some theming program that OS X warned me not to install, and Finder didn't work for a week.

Spilled water on the keyboard, aired it out, it was fine.

Spilled Sprite on the keyboard, aired it out, it was not fine. For some reason, I had an extra pro keyboard, so I just used that one.

iBook -
Dropped it when it was closed and it landed on its charger. It bent, and I never managed to straighten it out. It still charges though.

My dog knocked it off a couch while it was open, and I had to take it to the shop. Luckily, nothing was lost.

I try to take care of my machines, really!
