In a coffee shop.
Oh yes, I remember the onion fields of Bakersfield. I’ve moved. That city desert makes you feel so cold. It's got so many people, but it's got no soul. So I made a little dream of buying some land. Give up the booze and those one night stands. And I’d settle down in a quiet little town and forget about everything. I need to send you the new address. Sorry about that.

Being by the pool last week made Lulu self conscious of her weight.

So she started yoga and Pilate and excited to see you to show you her abs, birthday boy!

No judgement. Looks good. I never use sesame seeds in my falafel, so you didn't mess up anything, as far as I'm concerned. :)
Was its a scratch recipe? This one has become my favourite, (other than the ones I have in my many Middle Eastern cookbooks). https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes...-experience-best-homemade-falafel-recipe.html

Yes, second try at making from scratch, fried with EVOO. I added paprika and cayenne to the mix. So tender with a mild natural sweetness, I'll probably never eat it from restaurant again.

I’ve used all sorts of greens in my falafel: cilantro, mint, dill, parsley, scallions, even kale—whatever is available at home. A bit of smoked paprika is nice too. I’ve never tried sesame seeds, but it sounds good. They are seriously easy to make and seriously tasty to eat.

Smoked, sweet paprika (one of the stalls in the farmers' market sells two kinds of smoked paprika - picante and dulce) goes with almost everything, I have noticed; egg dishes, anything with rice, and some serious chowder or fish soup style dishes.

Thinking about making avocado toast. I have an avocado. I have bread. I have a lime. I have salt. What could possibly go wrong?

On the other hand, I'm not a millenial, so I could be risking an anti-millenial explosion with a subsequent warp core breach. "Boom" is what could possibly go wrong.

Maybe an avocado and cheese omelet with a side of toast.

Bread, mayo, avocado, salt and pepper. Good stuff!

It is trout season again, had enough to make a pasta dinner and also some smoked trout spread.
For the pasta we went with a lemon butter sauce with smoked trout, arugula, peppers, green onion and parsley.
The fish spread is my standard I always make and we will give away one container.
I could have it shipped if there are any takers. ;)

My wife has been trying hard to avoid wheat flour, which puts a crimp on pasta dishes. However, she recently discovered pasta made of corn instead of wheat! It is practically indistinguishable from flour pasta, taste wise, other than maybe it gets stickier than flour pasta faster, not completely sure about that, but it is delicious.

My wife can't eat wheat, either. We use Barilla's gluten free pastas. They work just like regular pasta and taste great. They're a mix of rice and corn. They also make an oven ready lasagna that is really good. Annie's also makes some good rice pasta Mac and Cheese "instant" sides. Their deluxe is pretty good. There area lot of gluten free ones out there, but many are hit or miss. I haven't liked the all corn or ancient grains based ones. Some of the chick pea based ones are pretty good, too. But, so far, the Barilla products are head and shoulders above the rest.

She cooks with wheat free flour. Might be worth looking into.

I could drop in and leave you with nothing but bread in the house. And short a plate and a knife. Enjoy your toast. :D
Well, that's roughly my verdict on avocado toast. I think it's better without the toast.

I'll go back to what I've been doing for years: slice avocado, salt, pepper. Plate and fork optional.

Wow. That is pretty tough!

If I may ask, is there a common thread that links all these or is it just a whole lot of bad luck on her part?

I could not imagine a life without chocolate… and dairy. Well I could, but I'd rather not.

One ripe avocado… salt and pepper and a spoon, and I am happy. :)

She developed food intolerance over the last few years. She used to love her chocolate bars! It’s very tough on her.

That I can imagine. And also eating out / cooking at home must be problematic.
I have a friend who is Coeliac… the restaurant staff always get the 3rd degree before any ordering… often they just say… "I'll ask the manager to come and talk to you."
