As long as I can go from wake to sleep, I'll be fine. I've owned to smartwatch/smartbands that have closer to a one week battery life, and I still charge them every night, so nightly charging is no big deal for me.
Halellujah!

All of a sudden, people have turned into drama queens about daily charging.

It's certainly not unfamiliar to anyone who's owned a smartphone, and the Apple Watch will be paired with an iPhone that also needs daily charging.

...and once again - - the small battery of the Apple Watch will likely be able to be fully charged in an hour.

Surely most people can find one waking hour at home while they eat or shower to recharge their watch.

A good manual wind watch can last 36-72 hours, so I would at least expect that, considering watches have been getting that much life for a couple hundred years, now!

I wonder if any 3rd party people will be making jewelry backup chargers?

That comparison is certainly out of left field!

Other than the one obvious shared function (time-telling), the two devices' are entirely different. One is a mechanical device with a simple analog display, the other is a networked wrist computer.

If you're just looking at wrist mounted machines, why not compare a smartwatch's running life to an LCD watch (1-5 years) or a self-winding watch (forever)?

The drama queens are the people who wouldn't be buying anything no matter what.

They'll buy when everyone has one. Like everything else.
