Just in case, don't keep your hopes high. It's a "found footage" type of movie, but the few scenes I watched were a bit cliché. I'll watch it eventually anyways.

Also, last night I watched Lifechanger (2018). And although the horror side of the movie isn't quite the main theme, the story that tells is mildly interesting, exploring feelings such as the fear of becoming what you actually are, and destroying your life because of it.

A timeless Sci-Fi classic that all fans of the genre should watch at least once. Have watched it countless times over the years, never fails to entertain :)

Klaatu barada nikto

One of my all time favorites. The original is so much better than the 2008 remake with Keanu Reeves

Sadly the same with many forms of entertainment these days, due the studios being creatively bankrupt and overly greedy. The 2008 remake is watchable, yet a pale imitation of the original. All these reboots/remakes that are overly reliant on CGI need to go away and if that means moving the old guard out so be it.

Of course there are a very few exceptions such as Denis Villeneuve's Dune & Blade Runner 2046, however for the most part the remakes are generaly far worse than the original...

I’ve only watched the remake, without knowing it was a remake, and the funny thing is that I don’t remember anything about the movie. I’m not sure if it’s because the quality of the movie or the quality of my memory; probably both.

I’ll try to watch the original movie.

Posted this before but watched it again and just as engaging as before. Paranoia in Russia during the Stalin era. You never knew who would be taken away or who would denounce you even if they were close family members. Do you denounce one person to save the lives of 4 others? Living in a perfect society there are no murders unless someone has fallen under Western influence. You see the worst and best of humanity on display. Very moving. Murder mystery. Available on Prime Video.

It has been claimed that Ava Gardner described Melbourne as "the perfect place to make a film about the end of the world." Wikipedia
Of course, this statement is proudly supported by all Sydneysiders...

she actually used ruder phraseology, but with the conservatism of the 50's it was never printed.
[something about a comparison to a small planet named for the greek god of the sky]
