The original "Lost in Space" had a similar problem. The first season was good Sci-Fi but it devolved in later ones. There was one episode where the "monster" was a giant lobster.Space 1999, first series was epic, second a flop hence no third series. Had the producers held firm and not sold out no doubt the series would have sustained.

Why studios interfere is beyond me, personal ego who knows. Generally result is a misfire and we as then fans loose out and they wonder why people don't go the the movies these days as vast majority today utter is rubbish and not worth the entry price...
I wonder how many more franchises have to flop, before the studios wake up. Another industry such people would be fired for sheer incompetence...

Good artistry will always make money. Had my way I'd fire the majority of studio execs as they are firmly & clearly detached from the audience. They need to get back to basics and learn to entertain the paying client and stop massaging their ego's...The original "Lost in Space" had a similar problem. That's why there's so many flops these days, any other industry they'd be shown the door justifiably so...The suits will always think they know better than the creators.

"Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" had the same problem. I loved the show ( I had a model "Seaview") until it got stupid.Good artistry will always make money. The premise of the episode was a good one. But giant carrots? I remember that, even as a kid, I thought the thing was stupid.I loved the giant carrot monster

unusual Australian sense of humour actually
I've just finished watching this. Basketball was a really ridiculous sport at the time, I'm glad those people suffered through those times so it could become what it is now.1986 Hoosiers with Gene Hackman
as aforementioned - 'hooters' with john daly was a far better showI've just finished watching this. a most worthy winner of oscar for best picture.Green Book(2018)When I watched the movie again, I'm still shocked by the lines.
"So if I'm not black enough and if I'm not white enough, then tell me, Tony, who am I?"
"The world is full of lonely people waiting to make the first move."
"Whatever you do, do it a hundred percent. When you work, work. When you laugh, laugh. When you eat, eat, eat like it’s your last meal."View attachment 2338373View attachment 2338374
Knight and Day (2010)- One of Tom Cruise’s best movies. Possibly Cameron Diaz’s best movie, tongue’n cheek spy thriller, adventure. The beginning sequence on the plane might catch you by surprise.

we watched it the first time at this cinema - Australia’s oldest operating commercial cinema
Those will dribble in. I look at best movie lists for 2023 and most anticipate 2024 and I have no clue, although I will watch the second Dune movie, most likely will wait to stream it. 🤔Do you have any recommendations for the latest movie? I will watch in my spare time and thanks for sharing.
