Just watched Alien: Romulus, It's not very logical, but the humanoid monster at the end shocked me. I think it's better than the last few 'Alien' movies.

I saw it too and would say it is better than most of the other newer releases. I thought the actress in the female lead was quite good.

Just watched Koyaanisqatsi, and oh my god... WOW!! That literally blew me away, just my kind of film. Gotta thank my dad for suggesting it (and watching it with me).
I watched it some time ago….well I played it some time ago. It is more of a screensaver.

NP, however note, Fury Road is nothing like Dune. To lump them together is a huge mistake. I will say that Fury Road is not a deep story, just an escape, a sound, amazingly choreographed chase story. Your loss, if you like the genre, but at this point, I don’t think you do... 🙃

I lump the Furiosa and Dune movie experience together. Correct, I don’t seek out those types of shows but still watched them in the theater. Here’s a compliment for those two movies. They were better than Out of Darkness but then so is a colonoscopy.

Dune is not for everyone, though the movies are pretty faithful adaptions of the book. It is a complex and deep story that they masterfully translated for the screen. Visually looked amazing and audibly as well. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it is the rare sci-fi movie that comes out that is actually good.

I’m 62, read all the Dune books , repeat read them also.
The 1984 Dune movie, ok it was so so still loved it as a sci fi geek.
The recent 2 Dune movies, truly raised the bar.
Now, I’ve got 3 kids age 22, 20, 18.
They never read any of the books, all 3 loved both movies. Their peers same.
My wife, a non scfi person, loved both movies.

yeah, few people actually dislike the movie. All subjective of course, but I think it is a near perfect movie. One more movie to come out, then we see if they lower the standards and start milking the series for everything they can.

I don’t know anything about this. After Covenant, I basically threw up my hands and said “no more”. My question, can this storu be tied to Covenant or any previous alien film?

It seems the story is between Alien1 and Alien2, the timeline is 2142, and The humanoid monster sooo much looks like the Engineer, like some kind of atavism.

They said the next Alien movie in 2025 would happen on Earth, hope it will be as good as this one, The previous Alien movies disappointed me greatly, Romulus was unexpectedly good.

Not word accurate, but still an entertaining watch more so if into the music. First watched on the big screen and good enough to buy the disks.

Okay, hopefully I will watch them during the next few days, the two of them.
I never read the books, although I’m a big sci-fi lover.

One more? I thought Villeneuve wanted to tell the story in two parts…

I prefer the 1984 version to the current ones. Somehow from the very start there is this indescribable feeling of darkness and mysticism from the very first scenes.

I think it is a near perfect movie.

Certainly well done and I enjoyed it. But it left out the story of the navigators and the scene where the navigators appeared before the emperor. Christopher Walken was a bad choice as the emperor.

Has anyone watched Reagan?

I hope to see it this weekend but not optimistic there will be time. I don’t expect much from it as the story seems quite dull. And from the previews Quaid does a marginal Reagan.

I have not watched Fury Road in a while and I really enjoyed Furiosa. I will watch Fury Road this weekend (debating 3D or 4K?) and see if it makes Furiosa even better.

Watched Furiosa Thursday night with my son, we both enjoyed it, say a 7.5 / 10. Agree now need to rewatch Fury Road .

Totally crazy but fun.
In the beginning I was really confused, then I liked it.
Halfway in I was captured and wanted to see where it went.
There’s more superheroes than people to save in this movie.
Afterwards, what the f-k did I just watch?
Maybe 5/10 overall.

2 average aging actors trying to regain some of their youth with average attempts to be funny at the same time.
probably the worst movie either have made - and each have been in some pretty darn good ones in the past …
4.5 out of 10 for mine.
would appeal to sub-25 age group methinks
