I thought it was a fun flick, but then I also remember watching the original episodic TV series when it originally aired, so the nostalgia effect was there...

It did make me laugh in a couple of spots. Yeap tons of fun.

I saw Blink Twice last night. I can’t believe I gave up a night watching a spider spin a web and dust settle onto the drapes just to see it.

Was very much a spectacle on release and still stands up in the lost footage genre. They learnt from the master, Orson Wells - War of the Worlds (1938) a radio broadcast that fooled a nation...

Mercury Theatre online - Including War of the Worlds and many others from the period.

I remember this being a must see movie, great tension, but my huge complaint was jerky camera, home movie, motion sickness. I grew to despise this genre when whiplash motion is involved. I’ve got these kind of home movies. ;) The best example of this documentary style I know of is the Normandy Beach invasion part of Saving Private Ryan, because it has smoother motion. Another movie I had an issue with was Cloverfield, because I realize how limiting the story telling becomes. Everything that is witnessed is seen though a camera someone is carrying.

Quiet Place: Day 1 (2024) We saw a version of Day 1 in the beginning of Part 2, at least from the perspective of the original characters. This 3rd movie takes place in the big city and technically happens before the original movie. While I iiked the original and the sequel, this 3rd installment, from what parts I caught while my wife had it on, did no do much for me... It was telling the same story from a different location and different characters..

Lifeforce (1985)

A big budget action/horror sci-fi film. The $25 million dollar budget that looks closer to double that. The practical visual effects are first-rate with a score by Henry Mancini. "Lifeforce" is one Cannons exceptions.

A race of space vampires arrives in London and infects the populace, beginning an apocalyptic descent into chaos. From Tobe Hooper, director of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Poltergeist" with Dan O'Bannon on the writing team of Ridley Scott's Alien.

Not completely horrible ...
Well, that's a solid recommendation...

In other news, I finished Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War and recommend it. Generally historically accurate, I was unaware of some facts and context of the situation in the "Wild West" at the time. Ed Harris narrates.

That does look good.

Again, not completely horrible. But a really awkward subject/plot.

This one is definitely a good movie, even if you’re not a war movie fan. It was shot in a way to look like one take with no cuts. But if you dig a little deeper, you’ll discover that it wasn’t but you would never know where the cuts are as a viewer.
