I am seeing low stock of Mac Studio at retailers like microcenter. New Mac Studio with ultra/extreme up next?
Wonder how many Studios Microcenter sells. (Guessing not a volume mover for them.)

Base models are readily available from Apple, with BTO upgrades ~2 weeks out, so not that bad? Myself, unless my livelihood needed one today, I'd wait until WWDC just in case Apple would pull out a surprise.

It cant be THAT expensive, they are competing with the Samsung Tab S9 that is 700 bucks, pricing the cheaper pro for 1500 would be shooting on the foot. Just stupid for a product that is on decline...

Microcenter usually carries higher end Macs, be it MBP or Mac Studio. They sell maxed out RAM/Processor and higher storage in the stores. They had plenty of stock for M2 Ultra in the past. Same with Best Buy now.

Don’t believe that mock-up picture. It makes no sense for the iPad to have a notch. From the leaks, the bezels are only marginally thinner, and iPadOS has no menu bar to hide the notch, especially not in portrait orientation.
Of course, now that you mention it! It makes no sense for the iPad to have a notch in landscape mode! So, if the bezels are marginally thinner and hide the camera, then I will look forward to the new iPad Pro :)

Wait, is that a notch I see? 😳

OLED displays have pixels that can be controlled individually, so high dynamic range content looks more realistic and true-to-life.
Most screens have pixels that can be controlled individually. What a goofy thing to say.

OLED is just emissive so there's no backlight... which means you can never see a pixel that is turned off.

I don’t see the iPad Air going down to $499. Not with Tim in charge.
Probably wishful thinking but I think the $599 starting price just need to come down. The problem is, Tim Apple may not agree.
I have an iPad 7 which looses support after iPad OS 17.
Got it refurbished for $209 in late 2021 and it has been a good investment.
Except for the 32 GB storage it works quite well, just like when I got it.
I would repeat with iPad 9 and it would still be a good thing.
we have a 9 but the problem is a lot is changing now. The last several iPads up to 10th gen were fundamentally the same. 10th onward is a new design, new pencils, usb-c, so 9 won’t hold the same into the future as the 6 did through the 7, 8, and 9.

My guess is the older Magic Keyboard for the new larger iPad. That would make the updated versions of the Magic Keyboard an iPad Pro exclusive.
yes.

even if we take the info in this MacRumor's article about the rumors of what the Pro and the Air will likely be like, then its clear that this article's part concerning the new Magic Keyboard -being "likely" usable for both the Pro and the Air - is probably contradictory.

no MacRumor's quoted source of these 2024 new Pro/Air models has ever rumoured that the new keyboard will be usable by the Air.
however, several times MacRumors has inserted their own surmisement into it, as they do here.

this matters to me since i dont need the power of a Pro, but want the benefits of this new keyboard are rumoured to bring. apple is not ever stupid about things like this. if this new keyboard is revolutionary and brings laptop usability to the iPad lineup, its likely to limit it to the Pro models for at least one launch cycle.

The 2018 Pro, especially the 11”, has really stood the test of time. I love upgrading Apple stuff but everything since then has been incremental at best and even cumulatively I don’t feel behind the times. This year I’m due, battery life and 64gb sucks, but wish I knew what mini 7 was going to look like, particularly the jelly scroll stuff. That’s probably all I need for iPad usage. If Tim can wow me with the Pro 11” though, I’ll spring for it and be set for several more years.

I highly doubt the palm rest area of the keyboard will be aluminum since it comes into direct contact with the screen when closed. But then again this is New Apple so nothing would be a surprise. And please stop giving the universe ideas about a notched iPad. Stop that. Right now.

It’s going to be interesting to see if the OLED display on the pro makes me feel ill or not. I bought a 16 inch OLED laptop and had to return it as the PWM display made me feel sick.

i have an M1 12.9 Pro that is still in mint condition and have no need for another one and I just pre-ordered a minisforum V3 to mess around with.
