Me: "What's an iPad other than a big, less capable iPhone? And what difference will M4 make? When will iPad step out of iPhone's shadows? And what did you mean to say with the whole 'What's a computer' ad campaign that people hated so much? Am I supposed to replace my computer with a big iPhone? How? I need answers, Mr. Apple!!"

Until Apple can make a software/OS usage case to leverage the performance of these ultra fast chips they put in iPads, I’ll be sitting this one out.

I have an 11-inch iPad Pro with M1 and have had little reason to upgrade. It’s fast, the battery lasts forever, and it’s my go-to consumption device. I use it for:

Vegging out after work, i.e., YouTube, Safari, reading books.
When traveling. Instead of lugging my 14-inch MBP on the airplane, I take my iPad
Sketching out projects around the house and yard that I want to work on, etc.

None of what I do requires a new tablet. M1 is already overkill. The M2 iPad Pros are crazy fast too. All this power with training wheels still in the OS department.
They need all the power to make installing all of the patches to their bug ridden software faster.

What to expect: Expensive things.
Now seriously, looking forward to replace my aging iPad Pro 9.7 by the OLED 11”, as long as is not above my budget (1000EUR)

The notch is gonna come if they slim the bezels. Then the dynamic island, then the dynamic hole, then the invisible island. Apple has it all staked out on the roadmap.

If they put a notch, a slot or a hole in an iPad then they are officially dead to me. Forever.

How do you use your current iPad Pro?
What will the new iPad Pro enable you to do or improve upon what you do?

So much negativity…..so many reasons! Could we see this over powered and over spec‘d IPad flop if the price is too high! Well done Timmy!

Getting more excited for this event… but my ipad air 4 with magic keyboard, ipad mini 6 are going to last at least another three years.

By the time i do upgrade there could be a huge jump in features and fingers crossed, battery life.

iPad Pro should focus less on 5mm thickness, and more on adding more ports such as SD Card and MagSafe 3 from Mac laptops, to make the device more "pro".
They should prioritise battery capacity over thinness. I mean ipad Pros are already so heavy that holding them isn't really super comfortable. So thinness is a low priority id say.

Bezels can be slightly thinner, but please, not to the point where a notch is necessary to hide the camera.

Let’s not go backwards.

Looks like the iPad Pro will be very expensive indeed. The iPad Airs will be the new Pro for most people.

For a lot of people the value proposition will be go iPad Air or just get a Macbook, especially if pen input isn't necessary for your a work.

Given the iPad Air will use the same Mini-LEDs panels from the current iPad Pros, it will be essentially the same product.

My hope is that new features of a new Apple Pencil will not be limited only to the Pro model. Although I suspect that will be the case.

I've lost count of the number of books I have read on my iPad Pros. They are far lighter than almost all of the hardcover versions of those books.
This is true… but ipad mini is far easier to hold for long reading at home, on train etc

The advantage of larger iPads is for ebooks contains a lot of graphics… like an non fiction book etc. you dont need to scroll and zoom so much

If the event is named "Let loose" could it be that is has something to do with something detachable thing or someone allowed .. like "multi users" let loose the whole family with multi user support on iPad ?

Let Loose definition : to allow (someone or something) to move or go freely

I predict a renewed iPad line up where all iPad Airs get white bezels and colors like the iMac. Besides that, the iPad Mini becomes the iPad Air 8,3 inch to create a less cluttered line up. Then the line up will be iPad, iPad Air in 3 sizes and iPad Pro in 2 sizes. iPad as an entry model, iPad Air as mid range and iPad Pro for the Pros, and if people really want those black bezels, they need to buy the Pros.
