Moved from 10,5 to air 5, very happy so far. Touch ID great and Logitech keyboard perfect for entry and as substantial case. Planning to get pencil shortly. No complaints at all.

My first iPad was a standard one - I think the iPad 3. But once I discovered the Mini, I was hooked. I've had Mini 2, Mini 4 and now Mini 6. Doubt I'll ever use anything other than a Mini going forward. I love the size.

I use a 12.9' 1TB exclusively, no Mac required. It is a fitting replacement for my beloved, recently defunct 17" MBP.

I have a white Magic Keyboard (with a SopiGuard white carbon skin) that I use as the main dock, but I also use it with a very nice tri-fold folio I got from Amazon for 20 bucks (Apple charges $90!!!).

Sometimes I also use it "naked", although I do have a DecalGirl skin on it to eliminate scratches on the back of it, and to make it pretty. :p

Swapping between the 3 uses is fantastically easy and convenient, and the skin does not interfere with neither the folio nor the MK.

The Wife has an 11" she uses exclusively with a trifold, silicone, pencil case.

You can't beat those ProMotion screens. I'd take a refurb first-gen 11" over a Mini or Air any day.

I use an Air 4 but I only watch Netflix and surf the web on it so it’s complete overkill for what I need. I likely won’t buy another Air and just buy the entry level iPad next time.

That's where I'm at, I find that the mix of price, battery life, and responsiveness - I'm happier with the basic ipad.

I'm using the 12.9-inch iPad Pro together with the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
I did hesitate between this one and the Air, but what ultimately convinced me was the Liquid Retina XDR display.
same here, was considering the Air, but the price gap between 64GB (not enough) and 256GB was unjustified ... and I got a chance to buy a new unused/unopened 12.9" Pro M1 in base (8/128GB) config for basically the price of the 256GB Air

At the time I fancied trying the TouchID in the power button which is good, but much the same process as the old TouchID home button which I never had any issues with. My wife has a 2020 entry level iPad and I can’t say the Air offers a better experience, but then I only use it for basic functions. If I had a Pro I’d still be doing the same things and the experience would be much the same. I’ll keep the Air until it starts slowing down as it’s not a device I’m in a rush to replace.

Mini with the pencil, it fits perfectly on the scrubs pockets (both on pants and on the shirt). In the hospital I use it to take notes while interviewing patients, and to teach my undergrad students (I take attendance on it, grade presentations and assign extra points for participation on class).

At home I use it to game, communicate (slack, iMessage, twitter) and to read (mainly kindle, but also iBooks).

Classic iPad 5th generation (2) for everyday use. Though I can't explain it, preferred over Mini 5, Air 3, and Air 4 also in house. Might be the comfortable 9.7 form factor.

I use the Air 3 mainly because I like to hold it in landscape mode while watching shows/movies and don't want to smudge the 'viewable' area of the screen. The thick bezels of this particular model works for me. That's literally all I use it for.

I'd love a 12.9 Air with barely a hard drive. Just give me the best screen Apple could offer, WiFi, lightweight and an amazing battery and I'm happy. So an Air mixed with the Mini...a media player basically.

iPad 9 for now, but I’ll be watching the new Pro reveal very closely…I don’t think I need an M1/M2 chip but the bigger screen/RAM boost/ProMotion together might be enough to sway me!

I just bought a 5th gen air and am trying to decide whether I am going to keep it or a Tab S8 by Samsung. The base model iPad with air gapped screen is a no go for me. If price is a concern there are a lot of deals on the air 4. I like having an M1 chip as this iPad is super fast and browsing the web it loads content almost instantly. I like the screen size and overall design a lot. I am just not so happy with 60hz display and the stereo speakers. I will never buy a pro because it is just way too much money for a content consumption device which is my main use.

Apple is great at pushing people into higher price tiers even when they really don’t need it by limiting features they know people want like Promotion and higher base storage. I just can’t justify spending $800 plus on a tablet I don’t use for serious tasks and never will but maybe occasionally at best. My son has a pro 11” and he does amazing drawing in procreate so for him a pro is perfect but for me I would rather have a laptop at that point.

Then get a Mini 6 or classic then.
