I have too many iPads now, I just inherited another, never thought I would have this problem:

M1 12.9 5th gen (upgraded from 4th gen 12.9, wife just upgraded to 6th gen 12.9)
9th gen (gave sister in law 4th gen 12.9, newly inherited)
Mini 5 (had this since launch)
M2 11 4th gen (insurance company replace my 11 M1 3rd gen with cracked screen)

Apparently there is a major 3rd party shortage of iPad Pro screens, after almost 2 weeks they decided to give me an upgrade, quite the pleasant surprise, I haven’t even opened it yet.
I think I may need to sell a couple, I thought I had a good use case for 2, but 4 seems kind of crazy. 😂😂
Mini 6 is a big jump from the Mini 5.

I have only used Air (original, Air 2 and now Air 4), however I am not sure that Macrumors poll is a good indicator of overall iPad model popularity, as most of us here are somewhat geeky. ;)

Classic 9th gen. I like this device for media and pdf reading. However I think I would have bought Air today.

I agree, I went to Apple as soon as they had them on display, played around, very nice device, but I couldn’t pass up the deal I received on the M1 11 Pro, iI was trying to decide what device I wanted to use for portability/secondary device, I use my 12.9 as my main computing device.
Haven’t really used the Mini 5 lately, then I had to send my M1 11 Pro to her the screen replaced, and then traded my 12.9 4th gen and received a 1 month old 9th gen, which I’ve been using in place of the M1 11 Pro.
On my, the decisions that need to be made….lol.

I use my Mini 6 daily but it's my only iPad.

My primary iPad is a 12.9 pro, which I use for lecturing on a white board either over a projector or over Zoom. My secondary iPad is an iPad mini. I use both of them every day.

The Mini 6 is excellent and much better than the 5.

Mini, have occasionally used an Air. Haven’t yet bought a second iPad due to the price hikes but might consider the 11th or 12th Gen spec depending.

Anything A15 or below is out due to being a downgrade or equal to the Mini.

Why would anyone need 2 iPads?

I would prefer the Air/Classic for content consumption and haven’t turned the 16/17 year old TV on since energy prices went crazy. At this point I’m more likely to buy an iPad than replace the TV, though it may well wait until I would have been replacing the iPad. I sold my Mini 5 when I got the 6, but if I were to go for an Air or Classic instead of the Mini 7, then holding onto the Mini 6 to retain portability and free Microsoft Word would make sense.

Why not use Word on a Mac? I use Word all the time on my MacBook Pro.

I don’t have a Mac. Rarely turn on my Windows laptop. Handy to just type the occasional letter etc on the Mini and wirelessly print.

It was really the specs of the Air 5 vs the Mini 6 that made me think that as Apple were treating the Mini like the poor relation, I wouldn’t get another, but at least 50% of the time I love the Mini and wouldn’t want to be without one.

What keyboards work on the iPad Mini?

I personally couldn’t cope with just 1 iPad, I use my 12.9 Pro for my main device, but there’s times where I’m streaming something on my iPad and use my 11 Pro for browsing and what not. Right now I’m streaming NBA on my 12.9 Pro and typing this on my 11 Pro.
Another reason for 2 iPads is when I leave my house, I’m bringing my 11 Pro with me, I definitely don’t want to “lug” my 12.9 Pro everywhere I go.

I used to have a Logitech keyboard case for my Mini 5, but just found that typing on my mini was too small and got an iPad 11 Pro, perhaps the new Logitech slim for the Mini 6 would be something to look at.

Currently using the 11” M1 Pro. I had the 3rd gen and 6th gen prior. Still need to get the Pencil and thinking about the Magic Keyboard. I don’t think my use for the MK will justify the cost, however.
