I have used these two and they work fine with my M1 Ultra. They both provide sine wave.

EC650LCD - I like its control of outlets based on the system state

I ended up switching to this for more standby power. Gives me plenty of time to start the generator.

CP1500PFCLCD

You can use them with the CyberPower app, but it's a Java atrocity. I mainly use the macOS built-in UPS control.

How do I figure what capacity I need to run a Mac Studio with a M2 Ultra for 10-15 minutes?
A quick and easy way, is to have all your components running, then scroll through the display on the UPS.
This shows the current runtime, based on ‘current’ power draw of connected devices.

You could then do an intensive process, and check the runtime again.

I would set it to battery percentage level remaining.

I use an APC BX1500M to keep my Studio Base Max, Caldigit TS3+, dual external displays, external hard drives, etc. running during power interruptions.

It has provided 2+ hours of runtime so far (with plenty of remaining capacity).

You have the Max 1 or Max 2?

I'm thinking of getting this. Given the specs are similar to your APC, at least in terms of capacity, although the CP is simulated sine wave, I'm guessing it should provide a similar run time as your APC?

Nothing additional on the model. It works great is all I can say.

Can't really comment on the CyberPower.

This is what I use, but they seem to have gone up in price quite a bit.

I can't see sigs on my iPhone. Furthermore, he said Studio base. I didn't know that also came with an M1.

M1 Max Studio 2022 32gb ram 512gb ssd.
M2 Max Studio 2023 32gb ram 512gb ssd.

Yes- sorry, work has been busy.

I purchased the 1st gen Studio Base Max M1 32 / 512 GB new within a few days of release.

Some groused about fan noise/coil whine. I never had any issue. Some attribute quiet operation with clean power coming into the Studio. One clown accused me of having bad hearing

I have better than average hearing, and my system is setup in a very quiet back corner office in my basement.

I had a Mini M1 16/512 before the Studio, and it was not nearly as power hungry (worked fine with 650 VA UPS).

1st time there was a power blip after I swapped in the Studio, everything powered off immediately. That is why I purchased the APC 1250 UPS.

I just scored a used M3 Pro 14.2" MBP 18 GB / 1TB, so I will eventually have way better performance and less power consumption

Yep Mini’s use Sooooo little power.
In my case I went from cMP to Studio, which is night & day for power consumption.
The studio uses same power (at full throttle) as cMP idle at desktop.

I use CyberPower 660W for my computers from Sams Club $100. I am purchasing a Jackery 600 Plus $400 (on sale) for power outages since we experience several of those a year lasting 1-10 hours along with brown outs. I need air in the summer to work so a box fan will be that air in outages. The Jackery is also a device charger.

I now use small LiFePO4 portable solar power stations for all my electronics. Depending on the wattage you get, the devices connected can run for many hours after a blackout and most units have a UPS feature. I have both Bluetti (EB3A, 268WH) and the Ecoflow River 2 Pro (768WH) for all my cameras, monitors, tv, computers, modem, router, etc. Each time the power goes out, the stations automatically switch over from the grid to the power stations and all the equipment stays powered on, which can be used for many hours during a blackout. They can also charge your phones and other devices during a power outage. I love them, especially the EcoFlow.

Overkill but I use the 1500 APS. Have the same for my Sony XBR TV in the living room. Living in Florida we see lightning on a regular basis. I have whole house surge protection but a UPS is a must.
