i think i am going out to sushi with a coworker on the 19th for a date, so i will be buying her food and maybe to the movies too.

that is what i intend on buying on the 19th

tabooo. hope that works out for you. though historically its not a very good idea.

Meh, its gonna take a lot to make me ebay my current 1.5 ghz PB and get in line for a new one. And I'm not sure Apple's gonna come out with a lot in their current situation. Is it even possible we will see intels? I know steve said not for another few months and apparently he also mentioned low-end models first. Doesn't seem very likely to put out an update worth having an event over just before intels roll out??

I'm pretty sure this is a stupid question:

If they update the powerbook lineup and kick out the 12" models from the lineup, will the prices of the old 12" powerbooks go down?

Ohhhhhhh...almost forgot....I will be buying a Bluetooth Mighty Mouse!

I would think they would drop $200 or so. I think part of that depends on if they drop the price of the 15". However I doubt they'll drop the 12" entirely.

I would be shocked if they have intel PB's ready. If they do update the PB's it will most likely be for HD displays and a few smaller things to make it seem like a worthy update. The even is most likely for the Dual Core PM's.

I'll eat my hat if they drop the 12", I agree there is way to much similarity between the 12Pb and the 15" and between the 12" Pb and the 12 or 14" iBook but still i say no way to them dropping it. So many people bought this model, they'd never do it. It's not like them dropping the mini to replace the nano, that was because of their ability to fit the same storage capacity in a smaller casing with approx the same battery life. Dropping the 12" would be like them stopping the sales of...........a slower model powermac....even that may be a bad example since the 12" Pb is so special, so unless they release a new form factor that changes the pb size i say no way.

I got a hat ready though.

A couple beers and hopefully a 12'' PB. I have been waiting for such a long time. Thought I would need one for studying but plans changed. Now I just want to have a PB so it can hang around with my 20'' ACD. I hope they will become good friends.

i think it would be cool if the current 12 becomes obsolete. they might retain a slightly higher resale value compared to the 15s and 17s. of course, apple would have to release something to put in the 12s place. a 13 widescreen...ooooooo...

Well if money was no object for me I'm buying a Dual Core Dual Processor 2.5 Ghz Power Mac with 16 GB of DDR2 RAM and a 1 TB HDD. Also the Geforce 7800 that will be announced and two 30" displays. My guess it will be nearly $25,000, but money isn't an object right? :p :D

Seconded.
