Face ID, better processor, more RAM is always nice but unlikely. I also want the price to stay the same, if it's increased, no thanks.

1. Ability to run macOS apps. Combined with the Apple Pencil, my iPad is perfect for note taking but Excel and Numbers for the iOs are pretty inadequate.

2. New Apple Pencil that would make writing on the screen feel more like paper. The current Apple Pencil is too slippery while being used to write on the iPad screen.

3. Bigger screen. 15" would be nice.

3. Arrow keys for the virtual keyboard. Why can’t they implement it now ???

I wonder how many people would like bigger screen than the present 12.9”? Personally if Apple made 13” in a smaller frame that would suit me best for an all use iPad Pro. Mind you a 15” would be nice to use, but then I would have to have an 11” as well for travelling. ;)

Same about price, but I also (unrealistically) want the same bezel design for my current smart covers. lol

But my real list is

A11X or A12X Octacore Processor
Face ID
Louder Speakers
Higher DPI
Brighter display
6GB RAM (if Apple really wants advertise the iPP as a computer replacement... ad 2-4GB of RAM
Better QC construction (the 2017 iPads seemed like that had a light bleed issue.)
I want the 10.5” to be 11” or the 12.9” to stay the same but much thinner.
Bluetooth 5.0.
Get rid of headphone jack for not room for other feathers.
Again I really hope they make an 11” iPO 256GB for $800, and then 12.9” to be $950 for 256GB

Better build quality
More RAM
No change in price

I will probably bite the bullet for a current iPad Pro on sale, but I am very hesitant in giving Apple a lot of money for a device that is already a year old that has potential issues. After my 12.9 went down after 12 months, there is a bad taste in my mouth.

1) Mouse support
2) Mouse support
3) Mouse support
4) Mouse support

And, finally...

5) Mouse support

What apps do you need mouse support for?

I would like a desktop class Safari that supports using the pencil as a mouse/stylus with click, right click, hold.

There are still lots of websites that have features that need a Windows machine. You can't access secondary features hidden behind the right-click for example.

Other than that, iPhone X design, smaller and lighter.

Microsoft made 15” tablet https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/devices/surface-book-2/overview
So,yes there is a market for that.

12.9" is fine for reading a single document but when working with two documents side by side, 12.9 is a bit cramped. An 15" iPad would be perfect for an app like liquidtext

It was Never ‘considered’ likely because the Notch is not necessary for the iPad implementation. The iPad has large enough surface area where it doesn’t require an Notch like the iPhone.
Yes... I know. You should be telling those that thought it would have a notch and worse, thought the notch was a desirable product differentiator that Apple are planning to use across product lines.
I have been saying from day 1 that it won’t have a notch.

Does anyone else wish Apple would just make a device like the Surface Pro? i'm against the idea of putting touch into a laptop BUT a Surface Pro is different (not a conventional laptop), anyway my point is if they were to put MacOS onto a Surface Pro type of device i think it would be killer, a lot of people could the replace both their Macbook's and iPad's at the same time.

Personally i would still have an iMac but i wouldn't also need an iPad Pro AND MacBook. I just think Apple could own this market if they decided to go that route.

I know we won't see it but it would be good to see the with the iPad merge into something like a Surface Pro, something that could run Final Cut Pro, Logic and so on would make me happy.

I would like Face ID in Landscape and smaller bezels with no notch (which I think is going to happen)
I would also like for the Apple Pencil to have W-2 chip and be able to pair instantly with more than one device at a time like the AirPods .
(I have a couple iPads that I work with at the same time and hate having to re-pair each time. Please Apple Gods? )

Hardware features I would like:
1. Face ID
2.USB C
3. Ability to use external USB C drives directly plugged in, so can transfer files of any size to and from.
4. ASK with adjustable angles and backlit keys.
5. Faster airdrop transfer speeds.
6. Smaller bezels
7. More RAM

The rest of the features I would like are software driven.

I am coming from an Air 2 so the dual speakers are something I would like as well. If there is no RAM increase I would still be going up to 4GB from 2GB so thats nice. I will be getting a lot of upgrades that came with the pro and second gen pro, but still want more bang for my buck. I am really worried the price will go up with the justification being Face ID, which would probably make me not buy the tablet. I also hope they come back with leather smart cases.

Touch on non-touch-optimized Mac applications?

The quad speakers of the Pro get glossed over a lot but they are SO NICE. I love them for movies, music, and gaming.

I agree with this, the first time I watched a movie on my iPad Pro I was blown away by how good the speakers were.

Also HDR on the 2017 iPad Pro is great, I’ve watched Deadpool, Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad all in HDR and they look great.

So whats given for the next ipad pro

1) faceID (hopefully in both orientations)
2) BT 5.0
3) reduced bezels (is already official)
4)

New size (11) sounds pretty confirmed too. Everything else is speculation. I’d say the headphone jack is gone just because that’s how apple rolls these days. Gone on the X won’t be on IPP

#1: 100%!!! Either macOS or a whole new padOS or something. But, iOS is not cutting it. I think they should also add mouse support as well. Tab S4 can use a mouse, as well as Surface Pro/Go. Apple has to step it up.

#2: Agree with this as well, to an extent. Might be harder to achieve than we hope.

#3: 15" is too big for something like this. 12.9" is perfect. And it will look even bigger with the slim bezels.

#4: Yeah, I suppose?

The one thing i don't understand is why do a 11" and 12.9" version? it's fine to do a 11" but why not increase the screen size of the 12.9" as well

On the software side i would really like to see them do more Pro things, make me want to replace my MacBook is the one thing i'm begging Apple for. Microsoft have done this with the Surface (it's just a shame it runs Windows) but Apple also need to do it, if they did it WOULD be killer!

The 11” form factor seems likely, but I’m not sure that I think they will delete the headphone jack. I think that will remain, (Given the one rumor that we have heard that it could be deleted).

I see the iPad as very much being a portable device, but I still see it being a stationary for many (Especially the 12.9), given that Apple does promote it as a desktop at times, where the headphone jack is still very much suitable in those occasions. But with the iPhone, its pocketable and the AirPods I think were the primary reason for the iPhone specifically with the deleted 3.5 Jack was to allow for more camera improvements and other technology where the Jack was consuming valuable space according to other Apple executive(s), where the iPad likely has more sufficient space to support the 3.5 mm Jack.

Hope you're right. I'm indifferent personally, but can see the value for others. Between my airpods and the Bose QC35 I enjoy the freedom of being untethered too much these days. Slight latency or of quality doesn't bother me, my hearing isn't that good anyway after all the crazy clubbing in my younger days.

I'm more interested in the alternative location (or second addition?) of the smart connector. Would also LOVE a better keyboard that's actually SMART with backlit keys, function rows and a bit more travel. If the smart connector moves to the back I can see a combination keyboard/backcase that may help with lapability.

Completely forgot this one thing. Options of colors on the back with black beZels on the front. Like the iPhone X. Went back to the Apple store last night and while I was initially sold on a white bezel IPP (browsing, notes, scrivener and OFFiCe are mainly white) it would drive me NUTS. THe bezel and the white on the screen will never match. My OCD would kick in. And as multiple people have mentioned there is a very visible black line between the screen and the bezel.

It’s going to be a black front for me 100% but It would be nice to have a white or silver back.

Yes! This! For me personally, it always has to be a black bezel (or no bezel) and I've always felt it unfair that there is only one option whereas the white has many. I would be very attracted by a different coloured back but have never had the option. A bit like Ford in the old days...
