The one with Whitney Houston and Seagall?

Come on Zenny, get your references right. Kevin Costner!

Maybe they can make a remake with Mariah Carey and Steven Seagal. Or maybe Dolly Parton, I think she originally sang “I will always love you”.

My god though, the last thing we need is a remake of that horrible, dragged out movie.

Watching "A very English Scandal" a 3 part drama about the Liberal MP Jeremy Thorpe's affair with Norman Scott that threatened to derail his political career in the late 60's and 70's. I remember the controversy at the time. It's very good and Hugh Grant is superb as Thorpe. Based on the book by John Preston.

I've been meaning to watch that for some time. Hugh Grant is a superb actor, agreed. I think what's rather pathetic is that it was controversy then, which is understood as a product of its time, but it still is now. From politics to corporate affairs. As our idiot in chief would say, SAD!

The Sinner

Holy smokes (pun sort of intended ... :D), it's fantastic. I'd say if you liked S1 of True Detective, Mindhunters, it's definitely worth your time.

From Wikipedia:

The Sinner is an American crime drama mystery television series, based on the novel of the same name by Petra Hammesfahr. The series was ordered on January 17, 2017, and the eight episodes were broadcast on USA Network between August 2 and September 20, 2017. In March 2018, the series was renewed for a second season of eight episodes, which is set to premiere on August 1, 2018.

The Sinner received two nominations at the 75th Golden Globe Awards: Best Miniseries or Television Film and Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film for Jessica Biel. Biel has also received a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.

The series follows Cora, a young mother, who lives a quiet life with her husband, Mason. Their lives are torn apart after the events of a beach outing, where she brutally kills a man in public and at first seems to have no idea why she did so. Assigned to the case, Detective Harry Ambrose delves into Cora's past to find shocking secrets and emotional trauma.

Watched the first 6 EPs, finishing it tonight. S2 has been ordered, it will be a different story, don't want to say much as it could spoil S1.

Originally aired on USA Network (of all places), but S1 is currently on Netflix.

While it's not really "TV", (I watched it on my desktop) the last thing I watched was Kevin Smith's "Hollyweed" pilot. It was really funny (if you're a Smith fan). You can watch it free at the address below on an embedded Youtube. Definitely worth a watch, I laughed a lot. If you like it, and want to see more, you can help fund the rest of the season for as little as $1.99 an episode. I did. I'd really like to see more.

Sharp Objects, a new mini series on HBO based on the Gillian Flynn novel. Starring Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina and the incredible Sophia Lillis as the younger Amy Adams character (she was Beverly in the remake of It!)

First episode was brilliant, I'll C&P from Wikipedia to provide a synopsis:

Camille Preaker, a crime reporter, suffering from alcoholism and recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital after years of self-harming, returns to her hometown of Wind Gap, Missouri, to investigate the murders of two young girls. The assignment takes her back to her childhood home under the critical eye of her mother Adora, a small-town socialite, which forces Preaker to confront some personal demons.

The ides of July is re-watch time for me... so, season 2 of The Wire, the underside of the unions at the port of Baltimore intersects with the underside of B'more itself, triggering repercussions everywhere: systemic corruption, power politics, personal tragedies.

If you're only ever going to watch one season of that, that's the one. If you watch that one and want more, season 4 is my other favorite of the five. First episode will hook ya.
