weird thing, with all his heat and humidity, somehow my TV collection got melted together, i was watching patrick swayzey tango with a wolf in some pond located in wooded resort in montana, the title read "dirty dances with wolves"

Watched The Snowman tonight. Average (at best). Extremely predictable. Have seen better TV thrillers/dramas. I imagine the book to be far superior.

Is anyone watching and enjoying Lodge 49 on AMC? I'm 3 episodes in and although I like the characters, this is such a low key story, part of me is wondering why I continue to watch it. It's about a brother and his sister who lost their Dad a year ago, and the sister is struggling with a loan she cosigned with her Dad. The brother is a super casual person, who used to work with his Dad in a pool business, but since the Dad is presumed dead and the business fell apart, has kind of been drifting in an easy going manner. He finds a Lynx Lodge Ring on the beach and his car just happens to run out of gas as he is unknowingly driving by this lodge. Nothing too mysterious has happened so far, but I get the feeling that something will happen, as the story seems to have some mystical qualities.

Anyway, I'll keep watching for now. :0

AMC’s Lodge 49 is an impossible TV show to describe. I love it.

It’s not particularly easy to explain what Lodge 49 is about, because it’s not really like any other TV show I can think of. Its premise revolves around a Long Beach, California-based lodge maintained by a (fictional) fraternal order known as the Lynx. (Think the Masons or the Elks, but with a stronger record of gender and racial equality than those groups had.) The lodge is an all-purpose hangout for its members, but also seemingly a weirdo portal to some other, more purpose-driven life. It’s sort of, uh, Cheers meets Twin Peaks amid the ruins of late capitalism.

I’ve recorded this. Is it any good?

Yes, it is.

Powerful, visceral, moving, affecting, harrowing - and hard to watch at times.

As you probably know, it is based on a true story, - the real life individuals depicted supported the telling of this story onscreen which can't have been easy for them - and the acting is superb in the best understated British tradition.

Started recording Kurt Sutter's new show, "Mayans MC". If it's even half as good as "Sons of Anarchy" it will be a fantastic show. Can't wait to see the 1st show, (it came on too late for me).

Yes, I remember the day the bomb went off. I live about 20 miles from Warrington and visit there occasionally. I look forward to watching it. (Ha! I do hope I'm describing the right programme! It is the one about the IRA bomb in Warrington isn't it?).

I must say that I have always found both Colin Parry and Wendy Parry to be two amazing, dignified, courageous, and extraordinarily impressive individuals.

The sheer horrific banality of a kid heading out to do a spot of shopping, to buy a Mother's Day card and a pair of Everton football shorts - and not ever come home, is unbelievable in our part of the world.

It is a powerful drama, and well worth watching with a first rate cast who do the characters and story ample justice.

Definitely one of those shows I'll be skipping based on the name alone.

Well, I think it was superb and strongly recommend it; this is classic British television drama at its very best.

The title comes form the fact that the bomb blasts occurred on the day before Mother's Day.

It is extremely well scripted, well shot, and beautifully acted, and had the blessing and support of both the Parry family and of Susan McHugh in Dublin; historically and psychologically, it is extremely good, and those who lived through it commented on its fidelity in depicting what happened and how people reacted to this outrage.

I'm aware but like much of what's on would instantly be on our no list.

Castlerock
Sharp Objects
Ozark

Excellent. Sharp Objects is fantastic, and it's 8 and done, so very focused, dark, brilliant performances. We're working on S1 of Ozarks which is very good so far, and we have Castle Rock on deck :D

Based on these choices, I'd also recommend [for you], Channel Zero, it's 3 seasons, with each season self-contained, based on "creepy pastas", really fun, scary, totally different vibe vs. other shows in the same genre.

Side note: glad you got your Ebay purchase / refund sorted out!
