I just finished True Detective. Amazing show. Awesome acting from MM and woody. I honestly think that in terms of acting/directing, the first season of true detective was better than any game of thrones season.

Star Trek Next Generation is on Netflix! I need to see if the digital quality of this presentation is better that the complete set on DVD that I own. On a big screen the DVDs have horrid quality. It has been released in BluRay but I don't feel like paying several hundred dollars for the set.

I watched the whole series on Netflix late last year and it wasn't HD quality.

All this talk about temporal paradoxes got me to tune up the Star Trek Next Generation Series Final- All Good Things and good news, while its not HD it is better quality than my DVD set. I shed a tear, they did save the best for last! Still toying with the idea of going Bluray if the prices ever come down.

I just finished the first 2 series of Peaky Blinders. I found the first series on Netflix and the second on the net. Series 2 just finished airing on BBC 2 and should be on Netflix before the end of the month.

It's a post WW1 crime drama and I highly recommend it. Plus, Cillian Murphy is in it!

TNG is on BD now? If that's so, I have to wonder why Netflix doesn't use the HD version for streaming.

I found that TD Season 1 was significantly better than Breaking Bad's final season.

Anything is better than Breaking Bad in my opinion. Tried watching that show 7 times, finished the first season, more than halfway thru the 2nd season, I just couldn't get into it at all. Seems like all my friends who raved about breaking bad also liked Lost which I thought sucked after season 2. According to them, I "just don't get it."

It was too dark for me...

Navy SEALs the Untold Story on PBS World. Wow. I've always been in awe of the SEALs and this was a terrific documentary.

When I was on the USS Belleau Wood and walking down a passageway, as a US Marine with an M16 in hand, I came to an opening with several men sitting and standing around and the side hatch open to the ocean. These guys had non-regulation hair and "uniforms" and had weapons that I had never seen before. I quickly moved away and watched as they jumped overboard, while underway, into a Zodiac and sped off into the Sea of Japan, with no land in sight.

There is no doubt in my mind those guys were SEALs.

Has anyone watched the BBC America series the Game?

I've heard The Game is very LeCarre Cold War espionage. Is it anything like the Americans (engaging characters and concepts?)

I always seem to miss it and the Beeb aren't too keen on showing past episodes prior to new ones.

I've seen several programs and some of the movies about SEAL's, just like many others, and I'm always in awe of them. Their expert training, discipline and relative liberty as a military unit is, in my opinion, far above any other military unit around. The programs I've seen about them show how much they endure and have to go through just to get selected is, unimaginable at times. Then, for those who make it, it doesn't stop there. High caliber training continues and never stops for they have to be constantly on top of their game to the best.

I have lots of respect for them and any time I see a documentary-type program on TV about them, I try to tune in.

Five more episodes left in season five of The Wire. My favorite show ever.

And season four of Homeland. So far so good.

For Homeland, I have been riveted this season and I was worried they'd have trouble finding their way post-Brody. I was really shocked with her hallucination, saying, "no it can't be"... :)
