My car's coolant tank burst. Thank goodness I was in the city. It cost me $2,000. Because my area is so hot and humid in the summer, there are many people like me who experience this problem. Mercedes couldn't get a service center to fix it, so I took it to a repair shop. The government needs to impose substantial fines on authorized service centers 😒

Okay, random thought: in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Rudolph is hated by “all of the other reindeer.” Santa asks Rudolph to drive his sleigh, but is that literally all it takes for all the reindeer to like him (“Then all the reindeer loved him…”). Also we don’t know if Rudolph ACTUALLY drives the sleigh. Anyway, random thoughts.

I remember as a kid my mom telling me she didn't like that song because the other reindeer only liked Rudolph after finding a use for him, but what if his red nose had no purpose and it was just who he was? They would've gone on making fun on him? The implications of children's songs and stories can sometimes be a bit disturbing 😅

I had always assumed (doubtless advised by my mother) that it was a song with a message to children that they shouldn't fear being different (at school, in the school yard) and that sometimes, the very reason for their difference (such as that red nose) can also become a source of strength and pride.

I understand how it can be seen either way.

Today in the UK there was an emergency message test. Mrs AFB went off. Mine did not. Both iPhone 12’s. Both running same IOS with same settings.

Go figure.

Oh well if there is a life threatening emergency, I can probably not worry about it!
I have a relative in England who heard sirens. No one was notified during the earthquake. If notifications had been received, thousands would have woken up and had the opportunity to escape. The Turkish government is going to fine Google billions of dollars for its faulty warning system, but the public opposes the fine. They're asking, "Where are the operators and the government when it comes to Google?" All three operators in my country are blatantly scams and can never provide service. I was in Istanbul the other day. Vodafone has no service in the heart of Istanbul and charges a monthly bill of 20 euros

Mu iPhone went off at 15.01 and then my Apple Watch at 15.10?

Last night, I watched an old episode of 21 Jump Street from the late 1980s. An undercover cop doing a job in a high school tries to infiltrate the school's computer club by talking about his "Macintosh II" with "extended memory." Part of me thinks it's fun having a reminder of when the Macintosh II was a Big Thing. But the extended memory? I don't remember ever hearing when I first became acquainted with the Macintosh (not long after that episode aired). The Macintosh II could take memory upgrades, but they were just upgrades. Maybe the cop didn't do enough research. (And, sadly, back then, a computer club probably wouldn't think much of a Mac, anyway.)
