City. Although I’d choose somewhere like the plains of Africa so I could shoot lions in their natural environment

Rome.

Or Venice.

Or Florence.

That should have read, and Venice and Florence.

But, I also want to see Strasbourg and Trier, (the latter is in Germany), along with Bordeaux (yes, wine tours), and Burgundy.

In Spain, Seville, Cordoba, and Granada beckon.

A return trip to Dubrovnik, and some medieval German cities.

I’ve been to Rome, Venice and Florence. As a teenager I didn’t really appreciate them.

Regrettably, culture is wasted on some teenagers.

I was sent to Paris to stay with a French family who lived in the centre of Paris (around the corner from Notre Dame Cathedral) for a few months as a teenager and it absolutely blew my mind.

But, yes, would like to see Rome, Venice and Florence.

We traveled all over Europe for summer breaks as a child. But it wasn’t really something I enjoyed then. Of course now I’d feel different, but don’t get to travel much for different reasons.

When my parents started taking foreign holidays, we tended to be farmed out to relatives or friends (kind of on the Enid Blyton model) for a fortnight; then, there might be a family holiday later.

But, I get it; they each had their respective jobs, plus did B&B in summer, plus they were parents; they needed at least a fortnight a year to spend together, be adults, do cultural stuff, visit pubs and restaurants, swim, take part in historic and scenic tours, and to get away from family responsibilities.

Our holidays were usually caravan based. So you’d drive for hours then have a couple of days somewhere before moving on.
We drove all the way to Florence that way! Took about a week.

Used to be B&Bs (and a few tours) in our isles when we were younger and my parents wanted to travel around a bit with us.

Then, maybe a few days with relatives or friends in a city, or on my mother's godmother's farm.

ABBA has gone silent, and I heard Waterloo (the last track) a few minutes ago. Time to put ABBA on again.

When I was a child I dreamed of seeing San Francisco and California.

SF is a nice city, I think. The open spaces of the Bay Area and Northern California are spectacular.

I cannot choose one city:

Tokyo,
London,
Rome,
Milan,
Turin,
Prague,
Copenhagen,
Vancouver

Good choices....

Four locations that come to my mind
Japan in the spring to see the apple and cherry blossoms.
Warsaw
Dubai
Kazakhstan

I like Warsaw, even though it has been largely rebuilt (but from the old plans); actually, I prefer it to Prague (not in terms of aesthetics, just in terms of atmosphere, and I far prefer the people).

Re Kazakhstan, for scenery, there is little to beat Kyrgyzstan - it is stunning, and for history and culture, I'd recommend Uzbekistan (Samarkand, and Bukhara, for example).
Jebus, I can't imagine killing such an amazing animal ...

Clearly, I know what you meant. :^D

I think he meant with a camera and lens.......

Pro tip for DT's online silliness: always check the "inviso text" (especially given what I'd assume people know about me at this point :D)
