Oh deer, sorry!

I hope you get it sorted and not too much damage to your car.
Oh she is definitely totaled lmao.

Front Damage and damage to the doors as well and the airbags came out lol.

2017 toyota rav 4 and it was already paid off the last 8 months. Just my luck. I need to find me a rich sugar daddy for christmas haha. Good news is that my insurance should be renting me a car before Christmas for a month so yay.

But thank you. Whiskey and Hot chocolate are helping.

Back from a flying dash to the city to pick up free range, organic, eggs (the very last day of the German organic vegetable stall) and collect my French bread (and place - and pay for - my bread order for next week).

Wince.

Friends of mine have had cars totalled in similar accidents.

Not a pleasant experience.
As we live in the country it’s often on my mind when out driving early. Especially this time of year when it’s dark.

Here it’s a cold but sunny day. Made for a nice pleasant walk this morning.

Apart from putting a picture up for Mrs AFB in her craft room and a session on the cross trainer, no other plans.

Well, a cow (yes, a cow, it had somehow leapt over a wall from the field where it had been kept onto a country road that I suspect may have been beneath the wall) - on a dark wintry night - leapt onto and totalled the car (an antique Ford Fiesta) of a friend of mine who was then a postgrad; she was lucky to survive (and lived to complete her Ph.D in science).

Actually, the French bakery was stressed (all those Christmas orders), very stressed, and tendering dockets for orders placed for next week.

They informed me that they will be open for a few days between Christmas and the New Year, - roughly three, perhaps four, and then, will be shut entirely for the first week of January.

Enjoy.

On my mind, is the (completely unexpected but wholly welcome) delivery of a coffee (and, of equal importance, filter papers), order I had placed as recently as Thursday night (that is, two days ago).

Excellent.

I am amply supplied with coffee and filter papers until well into January, if not a little later.

On my mind, I actually pulled myself away from my electronics and went car shopping. Definitely a lot of choices to think about.

Saw a beautiful 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee i liked for about $24,000

I test drove a 2020 Kia Telluride and it has about 70K miles asking for $27k but i honestly dislike Kia's with a passion and the vehicle felt boxy.

I did also test drive a 2021 toyota highlander which i liked and toyota has done me well withmy Rav4 but Idk. I kind of want to try something new.

Stressed lol.

I hit a deer yesterday so im sort of stranded lol

So long as you are unhurt.
The equivalent problem in Aus. is large kangaroos. People tend to hit them at 100kph+, and these large, muscle-bound beasties tend to total any vehicle smaller than a prime mover. And, chances are, when you do hit one, you are miles from anywhere and generally out of mobile phone range, so you just have to wait for some other driver to come by.
It's also hard on the roos.

The drive that houses ALL of my old (and some recent) files is finally showing signs of failure. I've had it for almost five years, so it was probably gonna die soon anyway. I've started to immediately copy everything (around 2 TB of data) to a different drive before anything catastrophic happens!

I'm copying everything to a 3 TB portable drive so I can take it up to Wisconsin. The previous drive is a 4 TB desktop drive that isn't very portable.
You have all the data on more than one drive though right? At least three would be my recommendation.

The very best of luck with this.
