In a coffee shop.
My artisan (and handmade, organic, etc) sausages have just been delivered.

And I have phoned the French bakery to confirm my bread order (which has been already paid for) which I shall collect tomorrow.

This is on my mind: I'm spending time at these forums, as discussions about Apple products give me a feeling close to choosing an Apple product for myself. I need this, I guess, as a dopamine hit/distraction/procrastination when the work is hard or boring, and because I've disabled Facebook and YouTube on my work computer.

I can't really afford any Apple products now, as I don't have a need for them, it's a want. I'll buy the iPhone 16 in September and a MacBook Air when my 2015 MBP stops being useable.

In a coffee shop.
You should switch to black coffee.
Only when I am abroad, where the milk is either unavailable, or vile.
You run low on milk an awful lot!
I do.

That is because I drink the good stuff.

Now, when I head in to pick up my bread in the French bakery tomorrow, I shall also pop into M&S for some of their Jersey milk.

I did buy some on Monday afternoon, but (but, somewhat to my surprise), have barely enough left for tomorrow's coffee. A litre used to last me a week.

Indeed, if I prepare an afternoon coffee (which is also on my mind), there will be no milk for my coffee tomorrow morning, only some double cream left (and not too much of that, either).
The weekend is on my mind. 63 minutes to go…..
I can well imagine.

I took yesterday off to get better and slept practically the whole day and all night; that’s unusual for me. After going to the coffee club for a small bit this morning, I decided I’m getting better but I’m not well enough. So I’m taking today off as well. Most of my clients are older than I am and I can’t get them sick.

How to put your cat on a diet without arguments.

Son went to Costco, and bought some stuff. Included was a bulk package of dried cat food.
Now this is different from the previous cat food where she would just wolf (lion?) it down and ask for more.
She will eat this stuff without complaining, but not so much, putting herself on a calorie-limited diet without noticing.
We are starting to see the results after several week.

Just woke up at 5am on a Saturday. It’s raining. It’s due to rain until 4 pm.
That’s going to mean another day in the house sadly. Shame as I really can see a number of gardening jobs outside I could be doing.

I need to take another nine year break from MacRumors. I've been here too much.

I went to an Indian grocery and a Mexican grocery yesterday. Got Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut bars, even though Cadbury isn't the same now. They're much better than the Hershey version. Priced at US$2.99 each, they were quite a bit more, but worth it.

I'm missing Japan so much now. It feels as though I've been having conversations about Japan every day. Too bad I'm here in Califusion (California) because I'd like to enjoy some Japanese food, the way grandmas make it in Japan.

If I'm not back soon, may you all have wonderful, successful lives!

Surly Cadbury’s comes from a UK grocery? I live about 30 miles from where they originated in Birmingham.

Here it’s another wet and miserable Saturday.
But it’s not a work day, so that’s good.

Well, I would love to read what you have to say about Japanese food; I share your love for it.

Cadbury's (of Birmingham), Fry's of Bristol, Rowntree's of York, who were all Quakers, if memory serves, (who brought their ethical lifestyles into their respective professional worlds) and who all made wonderful chocolate, as did Terry's of York.

Originally, yes.

Wet and showery - vicious showers - (interspersed with brief bursts of sunshine) but pretty bloody cold, here.

Last Monday, I placed an order for a few jars of organic, locally produced honey, and they have just been delivered; now to head off (presently) for French bread and Jersey milk, among other purchases.

Just back from the city - a biting, bitterly cold day, with a cold wind knifing through the one's many layers (though, I was well wrapped up).

Jersey milk, double cream (and crisps) were bought, and my French bread was collected.

I dashed through the rapidly closing farmers' market, and purchased some chilli peppers, herbs (parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme), new season's garlic, chard, cherry tomatoes, and free range, organic, eggs.

And I also treated myself to some sushi.

We actually had a bit of sleet here in between the rain. Not ventured outside today. Probably won’t.
Instead I’ve been doing exercises inside.
Mrs AFB back is still not good. The slightest bend or twist is leaving her in agony. She is doing some exercise to help, but I’m not convinced it’s doing what she needs.

Well, we had sleet (and horrid flurries of a white colour) flying past the windows yesterday, and sleet alone, plus vicious showers from a threatening, lowering, charcoal, sky, somewhat earlier.

A fresh shower stated spitting as I left the city, taxis the means of transport both ways, as I didn't fancy getting soaked while awaiting a bus.

Usually, I take the bus in and a taxi (as I have bags full of shopping) home, but, not today.

Okay.

Ouch.

Commiserations.

No idea. Just lower back pain for the last couple of weeks. Just twinged it somehow. The joys of getting older.

Fair enough.

Good luck to her; I know that she won't visit a doctor, but, is there any way in which she would be prepared to obtain some sort of professional diagnosis, and possibly something that will help alleviate or ameliorate this condition?

We have a loaf in the freezer. That will last about 2-3 months. Milk we probably have a similar amount.
Fresh bread (especially as the French bakery exists), and fresh milk (from Jersey and Guernsey cows) for me.

Re taste, there really is nothing to compare with this.

When abroad, I tend to miss fresh milk (and cheese), and will take both coffee and tea black; most countries do - or bake, or offer - something fairly decent by way of bread, so that lack is not quite as bad.
