How important effective, and quick communication is. Due to certain people taking a week to respond to their email, this entire project has fallen apart. Profoundly upsetting, I'm actually quite pissed. Had they responded in good time, this would've worked out perfectly. Nothing I can do about it, but if you see an email in your inbox with your name in the heading - you respond to it as quickly as you can. Important life lesson that some people haven't learned, and probably never will.

I get it, we're all busy. But you know, so am I. And I always respond to anything, whether an email or text, as soon as I can. I don't ignore people. I cannot put words to how frustrating it is when I am ignored. I don't expect a response that same second, but I also expect people to actually, you know, respond.
Actually they are giving you a free masterclass in effective, quick communication: you are not important to them. Never rationalize what other people do.

There is a reason why they say that loving yourself always comes first.

When emails don't get answered in a timely manner, don't wait a week until it's too late, get on the phone.

On group projects there are often people who get distracted and they'll need to be advised that they need to get their butt in gear and do what they're supposed to do....its just the downside of working with other people.

Okay, question: When YouTubers talk about their video sponsorships, and they say how much they enjoy the product, how useful it is in their real life, etc. - are they actually being honest? Or are they just saying that as a way to quickly earn money and views? Was just posting in another thread and I had that thought.
Depends on the person. I’d not endorse a product I didn’t like. Some people will do anything for money though.

Wish I could run, cause it seems like a really good form of exercise. Bad asthma makes it nearly impossible though.

I try to walk at least 6 miles a week though. And I love going on hikes when I'm near any good mountain trails (which I'm not right now--but back home I am!)
I tend to do that at least a day. 6 miles a week is less than a mile a day. That’s not good for your health at your age imo. Even with Asthma.

So depends on the person. I have three email accounts. One goes to all my devices (well not my work MBP) and because it only gets given to important people will get seen and dealt with straight away.
Then my gmail account I use for most other things. I tend to check it every couple of days. It’s only accessed through a browser.
Then my yahoo account. It’s where I really don’t want to give you any contact details but the online form mandates I do. I check it every few months.

Which email address did they give you? Primary or secondary etc?

Then some people decide that they don’t want to deal with something so pretend to not have seen your email.

At work I get 100’s of emails, teams messages and basecamp requests a day. Things do sometimes get missed because of the volume. If it’s important I pick up the phone.

Couldn't agree more.
One of the reasons people don't always handle their emails like you expect them to, is the fact that nowadays email is being used (abused) for just about anything and everything.

In some cases like at my job, not having a response to emails especially with HQ, is an issue of under-staffing. You can try reminders, or request a read receipt at least. Or phone.

In a coffee shop.
I have milk every day. I have cereal 365 days a year. At least 6 cups of tea a day (with milk). I could never give it up.
I have cheese about once or twice a week. I love cheese but it’s not good for my waistline.
I don’t eat much yogurt or cream.
Excluding the times when I am working abroad (when milk is often difficult to obtain), I will drink milk (usually in my coffee) more or less daily when at home.

Likewise, I cheerfully consume (nay, devour) cheese - which is something I do not envisage ever eliminating from my diet - on a regular basis, and I do quite like yogurt (especially the forms you find in the Balkans and similar regions, such as Greece, or Russia), and love cream (especially good quality, preferably organic, cream), although I do try to ration myself when offered the temptation of good quality cream.

In a coffee shop.
I had some nice cheese in France at breakfast and a restaurant. But one soft cheese didn’t agree with me so much.
Ah, the cheese in France......

Glorious.

Finally, my internet has been restored & repaired (the technician was out this morning), and the landline should also be restored later today.

Thus, no need to plan which coffee shops are due a visit.....

Depends on the product, and depends on the YouTuber.

I am wary of sponsorships - not least because I suspect that the feedback may not be entirely genuine; as @The Clark suggests, instead, one should type the name of the product in reddit and read the responses, which will be from genuine users, who are writing about their experience with the product in question.

If you’re genuinely being held up then ask again with “Second Request” added to the subject line.

If there’s still no reply then it’s the BA or PM responsibility, if one is assigned.

If the project has no BA or PM assigned then add the person’s supervisor along with yours and request again making it clear you are DIW.

If the person is an external client (customer) call them.

Two very important forms, with extremely hard questions. I keep coming back to them every once in awhile, but I just can't answer them. Some of them, I literally do not know of an answer. I mean, I need to submit them relatively soon.
