This is useful, thanks!!
I wish there was a list of these hidden features which are not obviously noticeable or even better if the UI was color coded or some sort of animation to indicate that there is a second layer/alternate actions for a particular button, otherwise it becomes annoying tapping-holding-long press-3D touch hoping something will happen when nothing is there... and then there are some useful features like this which are missed!

You can do it fairly quickly in Safari by tapping and holding the reload icon/button on the right of the address/search bar that's at the top.

I love adguard and i recommend it to everyone.

But i find it a bit annoying with that 50k rules limit. (I know it is apple’s fault)
So, that being said, i am pre-ordering this 1blocker X because i am very curious with their 120k rule limit.

I am on Adguard now, both iOS and macOS. Pleased overall.
Like the ad blocking in other apps on the iOS version (doesn't work for youtube for some reason).

Indeed, and while the app store listing notes 120k+ rules, I've seen repeated mentions on Reddit about 300k+ so not sure, but either way could Apple take some measure of stifling this addition per their apparent limit? I suppose it's too early to tell or ask such questions. Also, my time with 1Blocker has been great between my iPhone and iPad, so I am happily upgrading even though the way they've approached this matter is pretty poor.

None of the adblockers have YouTube ads blocking as it’s impossible to block on mobile
Not in the Youtube app itself, but „Wipr“ always has been blocking ads on the mobile site and the website on MacOS and also has been the only one to manage to block them for a long time.

Adguard pro and 1Blocker blocked ads for me on mobile and website both. No app blocks ads on youtube app though.

1blocler have worded their press release very well. Telling you that you can still use your paid for version. What they fail to mention is that an ad blocker needs constant rules updates to stay ahead of the advertisers and they will no longer update the legacy app rules. So eventually you need to switch to keep blocking. I'm off to adguard.

BTW. The 5.99 price is the discounted price.

So, you paid one time and want lifetime updates and lifetime work by the developers....

People some times are a bir unfair with the developers. We should support good apps and good developers.
They are offering us GOOD services.

i'm happy to support developers with money again, and would have payed for an in app purchase again if the communication would have been better. that way i won't support.

If you/we don't support the good apps, in the future we will only have miserable apps.

Go all out and setup network level blocking for malware, social networks, ads, tracking, porn, ransomware, crypto-mining and any anything else you want with Pi-Hole. It is a local DNS server and can run on a Raspberry Pi, or on a Linux box and even in a VM.

You can even run it over OpenVPN for blocking while away from your network.

I've been running it for a while now and its fantastic. Plus you get a nice GUI with graphs, data analysis and can run it via CLI as well.

Screenshot from my Pi-Hole:

Maybe this was added later, but 1Blocker Legacy will still receive rule updates.
I agree with what Hank said: They are a two (!) person team, this is the first paid upgrade for a (imo) good app that has been around since 2.5yrs…we should cut them some slack.

Btw, 1Blocker X is now live on the AppStore.

I am now using the new 1Blocker X. I am loving it.
I was feeling “claustrophobic” with that 50k rules limit in adguard.
Now it feels amazing to see almost 50k rules in each list :)

Ambitious approach to circumventing the rule limit; the potential for 300k+ rules is crazy lol

Hoping partial white listing makes it soon.

I stand corrected.

This just highlights thought that they handled it badly. A catalogue of errors and breaking the app so it seemed they were just hawking the new app.

I have bought the new one as I like shiny new things and its all good so far. Well, on the devices it works on. Just crashes on my older ones.

I am thinking of purchasing this but I am not very technical

Once you download it do you have to do anything in terms of settings or set anything up or does it just run by itself? I currently use adguard....

You only have to activate the 7 extensions in safari settings, like you did for adguard.

adguard is amazing too. I love both.

Any love here for Firefox Focus these days? Over time I mostly got down to that and Adguard and occasionally switch between the two essentially.
