It impacts me because Apple wasted a whole year neglecting things Pro users actually need to port the Weather and Calculator app as well as develop the Stage Manager no Pro user asked for.
Weather Channel is a far superior app, and there's billions of calculator apps on the iPad, a lot are free, seriously why waste a whole year?
And as for Stage Manager, I used it for all of 15 minutes before I realized it ruined my productivity and workflow
Adobe Lightroom produces excellent results, aside from Adobe imposed limitations forcing the cloud on everyone. Photoshop is getting there also. But again, little to do with Apple. They’re the only Adobe products I use so I don’t know about others. But it’s simple, if the app isn’t offered on the platform then the platform isn’t for you. Luckily there are still macs where the apps you use still exist. Even then - apples handoff and continuity ecosystem make the still iPad an extremely useful proposition. No, Final Cut Pro, etc. Xcode, etc. I am aware of Avid, I thought they had fallen behind.
Pixelmator works ok, and Davinci resolve will help, but I am already in Adobe and Apple projects. Can they transfer?
I have no use for Apple Pencil.
Pros need a weather and a calculator app made by Apple. Heard it all now.It impacts me because Apple wasted a whole year neglecting things Pro users actually need to port the Weather and Calculator app as well as develop the Stage Manager no Pro user asked for.

It’s a great tool for artists, and that’s about it. Anything else can be done better on a Mac.Hey all,
I'm fortunate to own the latest iPad Mini and I love it but whenever Apple release any new products I always take a look and get a desire to change.
Regarding the iPad Pro I just don't understand the point of it.
So first of all I looked at my family/friends who own iPads and they own a mixture between the iPad/Air/Mini. And what do they use them for? - Browsing, Social Media, Drawing, Colouring, Reading, Streaming Shows.
None of my family/friends own an iPad Pro but I've met a number of customers/colleagues that have one. I asked what they use them for and they use them for....... Browsing, Social Media, Drawing, Colouring, Reading, Streaming Shows.
So I'm at a loss, whats the point of a iPad Pro? What can you do on a iPad Pro that you can't or will find difficult on another iPad in the range? To me it seems like buying a Ferrari to drive to the supermarket to pick up some snacks for the weekend.
P.S Sorry if this comes across like I'm slating iPad Pro owners/fans - I'm just curious. Also I'm slightly jealous as I think it looks great.
My experience is very similar. I actually have a windows laptop issued by my employer but I often end up using the iPad for majority of my work. Things like teams meetings, email, reviewing of documents, etc. for me I enjoy doing on the iPad (12.9).I currently have a 14” MBP and it’s overkill and future proof for my line of work. I work as a Behavior Analyst so a majority of my work is done through Telehealth, Safari, and Microsoft Office. An ipad for me is useful as I need to fill out a lot of forms, parent training documents, And other miscellaneous paperwork. Also for me, sounds silly, but I genuinely enjoy working from an iPad. It’s a different experience then working from my MBP. I almost feel more productive using my IPad, and it’s always a change of pace. My 14” still has the ability for Final Cut or any heavier duty task if I want to do it. However, for my work flow and for what I do at work I can use an IPad And it’s an overall great experience. Not everyone is a content creator, or designer. We all got our own niche for what we can use it for!
I want FaceID instead of TouchID.
You mean for you, right? In my humble opinion I think there really is no need for a pro I have a iPad 9 now and it does everything I wanted in a iPad.
yes I mean me and also anyone else. You mean for you, right?
So iPad 9 has mini-LED display and a 12.9" screen, right? If it does then I don't need a 12.9 Pro.yes I mean me and also anyone else.
I've got Procreate for my iPad Mini so I'm going to try and learn how to use it better. I'm self taught on Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign to an extent so I want to try and get back into drawing/creating again.
I was self taught on PS also. Once they went subscription I continued to use my old outdated/unsupported CS6 until the iPP was released. I jumped ship so quick when I saw what Procreate and Affinity Designer could do. And being able to draw with a pencil. I’m left handed and always used PS right handed with a mouse. Whole new world.I've got Procreate for my iPad Mini so I'm going to try and learn how to use it better. Who knows I might really enjoy it and end up getting an iPad Pro. Then I'll know the point of an iPad Pro ha!
This thread reminds me of a question that was asked in a YouTube video. How much iPad do you really need?
