I really have a hard time understanding people who buy a phone every year. I mean if that's what you want to do, then that's what you want to do. It's more of a failing on my part.

Before I got the XR, I did go over to Android and the Google Pixel. It was a nice phone, but Apple's Ecosystem (At the time) was better. Also, Android Auto (At the time) was so old fashioned. I've heard they really improved it in the last few years though. Still, I have the Apple TV and the Watch, and the Homepod, I can't see myself going back to Android anytime soon.

I also won’t go back to Android due to being deeply immersed in the Apple Eco System also. I have an older Mac Book Pro(bought refurbished last year) as well as an iMac, iPod and Apple Watch besides my active phone.(I have a spare iPhone SE 2020 and a WiFi only iPad 8th generation) I (And my family) have had an Apple device(mainly computer) since 1984 when my dad bought his first computer which was a IIc.

Never skipped a year or do I see myself doing so. I love tech and gadgets, Apple fanboy here. I usually unload my prior year's version for 60-75% of what I paid so I find it not much of a financial burden.

4, 5, 6, 11 Pro. Held onto the 6 for a long time since only the Pros were available in the smaller size. Finally relented and got the 11 Pro when it looked like the pattern would never change. So of course Apple did a 180 and released the 12 mini a year late for me.

Because of work from home last year my company gave everyone iPhones… the behemoth 11 I’ve been avoiding with an even bigger Otterbox case. That f@#$&ing aircraft carrier sits in my back pocket. If I sit on it and break it, oh well. It could be worse… they could have gotten us 11 Pro Plus phones. Then I would have needed to install wheels and make it into a skateboard. Can you tell I’m not a fan of large phones?
We do and we agree with you. 👍🏼

My mom gave me her 7 that I use as an alarm clock now.
I still have all of them except the 8 Plus, which I traded to get the XS Max.

My favourite would have to be the 7+ or the 11 Pro Max, least favourite the 4S, 6 plus and X (controversial I know). I only upgraded the 11 pro Max as I wanted more storage, but found the new Max to be a little too big for me

12 Mini

I like a smallish phone. The 8 was ok and I got used to the size, but it always just felt a bit clumsy in my hand. The 12 Mini is such a great combo of size and screen real estate. I very much hope there's a 13 Mini (at least) so I have something to step up to when my time with this phone is done.

Here's my iPhone history
  • iPhone 5s - First iPhone
  • iPhone 6 - Upgraded when switching phone carriers
  • iPhone 7+ - Upgraded due to BatteryGate, though Apple would not own up to it at the time
  • iPhone XR - "Upgraded" for FaceID
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max - Upgraded for OLED, cameras, and screen size.

I’m hoping for the same. 🙂
