Like others, I had a problem (iOS 13.1 PB 4) where, despite all of my photos being geotagged, only some had the location listed above the date. The map could be pulled up on all of them, but some refused to list the location at the top.

I had all originals downloaded. To fix the problem, I changed to ‘Optimize Photos’, made an iCloud backup, erased the phone completely, and then restored from that backup. All the location info came back.
It was a pain setting up Apple Pay again, and now I don’t have the full-res photos on the phone, but it worked. Perhaps erasing and restoring with ‘Download and Keep Originals’ selected would work too?

3D Touch does come back with full functionality (outside of the 11 and 11 Pro Max) with 13.1.

The call silencing. I got a call earlier today from my estate agent and it didn't come through. I can't think of how anybody remotely sane could've considered this a good idea.

Does anybody know if I can disable it?

Agreed, this was a poorly conceived idea. I don't know what world Apple thinks we live in, but I get calls all the time for work from people who aren't in my contacts list. I don't know why they ever thought this was a good idea and its not well thought out at all.

My biggest gripe is not being able to use the entire keyboard on the newer phones to move the curser around. Why just the spacebar? It was so convenient to 3D touch on the entire keyboard anywhere to control the curser. I don't know why they've limited it to just the spacebar as the entire keyboard should work even without 3D touch.

It'd probably get confused with the new swipe to type function.

However, you can put your finger on the cursor and move it. The cursor increases in length slightly to help with placement.

I really hate cursor manipulation in iOS 13, of how you try to tap & place the cursor with your finger has changed. I have such a hard time, selecting text and positioning the cursor where I didn't before iOS 13. No fix available.

HATE IT!!!

Oh, and I don't have an emoji button on the revamped standard Apple keyboard, on my iPhone 6s Plus; is that a feature reserved only for the X/11 series of phones?

My fix was just to revert to Gboard.

Maps lost all of my favorites! WTF? Where did they go?

Edit: just found them under ‘My Places’. What idiot thought it was a good idea to change ‘Favorites’ to ‘My Places’???

Ok my new major gripe is Shortcuts not working through Car Play. Siri responds with "Shortcuts are not available while in the car" or something like that.
THIS! I would love to be able to run shortcuts while driving. I'm not positive since I've been on the iOS 13 beta for so long, but I think in iOS 12 you could run them using siri through CarPlay. Crippling it like this makes no sense. So now in order to start my driving related shortcuts, I have to manually click it on the screen and take my eyes off the road. Stupid decision to make this change IMO

Well that sucks. One of my shortcuts is take me to a destination that Siri wouldn't be able to find easily while I'm driving.

I’ve found that notifications aren’t being grouped on the lock screen consistently. Some are and some aren’t and there’s no obvious rhyme or reason why.

Even if I enter the specific notification settings for an app and set grouping to “by app” instead of “automatic”, it still separates them.

Holy crap, I thought it was just me. Yes, something has changed with this and it's infuriating.

Yeah, part of the problem is my finger covers what I’m trying to select... can’t see what I’m doing without the magnifying glass. Hopefully just a bug.

I'm hoping that Apple "fixes"(?) it with today's iOS 13.1, or more likely a future iOS 13.2/13.3.

*SIGH* But unfortunately I'll bet this is the new normal and Apple's new intended way of text manipulation. 🤦‍♂️

On iPhone I’m pretty happy with the update, though the changed position of the reply button and it’s functionality is annoying.
The fact that you can’t bulk delete message attachments anymore in the more page of a contact is crazy stupid, as is the new app updater.

but ok, those are all things I can live with. What’s all the fuzz about 3D Touch? It seems To work just like before on my iPhoneX?
iPad OS is another story. Mail has some terrible annoyances there, the worst being the “reply” cmd+r shortcut causing a mail to yourself instead of the original sender if you use it in a threaded conversation.
Also some things about invoking a new instance of an app that was already opened- why can’t you close one instance in that selection dialogue??

No badge notifications on Mail.
I thought I was the only one! I did everything I could to get it back but... :(
Also there's a new way to get to app updates-have to access your profile area to get to updates(the round icon on the upper right side).
Took me about an hour to find out how to update apps. And no, they do NOT update automatically at night when the phone is plugged in and connected to WiFi
Mine is they’ve made things take longer than they did. If I wanted to delete an app previously I simply long pressed it. Then hit the X when the apps started to wiggle.

Now I have to long press, then select rearrange icons. Then delete.
I was annoyed by this too at first, but then I realized I really don't delete apps all that often to really care... /shurg
When my iPhone was connected to my car with iOS 12 there was a home button on the screen to activate Siri. How do I do the same thing with iOS 13? I read that some cars are always listening now but saying "hey Siri" when I'm blaring music isn't going to work. Holding the home button would silence that for my request.
Ugh, yesssss why would they take away the home button? Now I have to press whatever that new button is called 2 or 3 times to get to the actual home screen. Annoying asf!

I use Downtime and have it shut off most of my apps at 11:30 p.m., which is when I *should* go to sleep on work nights. But last night, I went into Safari to do a Google search, and I got the "Not available" as expected. However, in iOS 12, I had the option to override for 15 minutes or for the rest of the day. Those options are not present in iOS 12. You can't put Safari on the "ignore" list, so the only way to access Safari is to disable Downtime altogether. Not a useful workaround that I hope is addressed in 13.1.
This is the worst thing for me too. And the thing is that the option is there but under the safari navbar (you can see the ignore button if you select the option to show all windows)! Someone just forgot about this... terrible! Hope it’s fixed in 13.1.

If someone has my number then they should be in my contacts list. If they are not and it's not a spam call, then they can leave a voicemail. So I've been loving this feature. So nice to pick up the phone and see 5 missed calls that are all SPAM but have it never ring.

iOS13.1 has been really good for me and stable. Mail is probably the only outlier but it works fine except for sometimes there's a slight delay when I open the App right after a notification and the email isn't there. My biggest gripe though is Automation. How Location triggers requires you to click "Run" from the Notification and also how there's no way to change System Volume (not Media). So I can't create Automations that change the volume based on certain events. Really defeats the purpose.

It’s not a practical feature in my world, and most likely most people in the business world. I have one phone that people can reach me through. I’m not going to put every single business contact in my phone because I don’t need to do that. And while the vast majority of them are in my contacts, sometimes people call from different numbers. If someone needs me, they can call me and I will answer. If it’s spam I just hang up.

Apple should be working on a way to identify spam numbers like AT&T does. They have a feature with known spam numbers built into it and if I get a call from a known spam number the caller ID says “Spam call” and I can then reject the call.

The phone not ringing at all to me is a little ridiculous unless I live in a world where only the people in my contacts list are trying to reach me, which is not the case.

Agreed. I missed a few calls from doctors offices and contractors doing work on our house & deliveries so I turned this feature off until it gets improved.

A short list of issues I have experienced in the last 24 hours, that has broken my "workflow" usage of my iPhone.
  • I don't seem to be receiving notifications from iMessage at all.
  • Find my friends used to have a widget in the tray to the left of the home screen. That has gone now, so I can't find my wife, etc until I go to the app.
  • Airpods will not connect to a phone call, but will connect to music apps / safari video.
  • When I take a picture, it immediately off loads it to the cloud and so I can't crop it, or edit in anyway until it has downloaded the photo I took just seconds before.
  • The UI for the photos app is woeful, but that is not really a problem / bug.
  • The photos app has been uploading 1 item for the last 24 hours.
  • Pulling down to use the quick search used to have a good set of suggestions for what I would do next based on my context (eg loaction, time of day etc) All that data seems to have been wiped in the update and is no longer contextually useful. Not currently anway.
  • Safari's home page of recently used apps etc is annoying.
Otherwise and surprisingly the battery seems ok. Just its normal rubbish self. Everything else is alright. Dark mode is not that super. Just fine.

My biggest gripe right now is it seems much more difficult for me to scroll to the end of the url in safari to edit it. I view a lot of forums and have a habit of just changing the id at the end of the url to switch between forums on the same site.
