Iirc, Netflix 720p is ~3 Mbps and 1080p is ~4-6 Mbps so Verizon's speeds seem fine to me. That said, I think even their most expensive unlimited plans are throttled to 720p.That's true. 5 Mbps is still fine for 720p Netflix streaming.

I think 15% military, and that is either the only or one of the few discounts that works with unlimited.Verizon. I get a 10% discount for as long as I have verizon. Or I think its 15% for military, I forget.
Yea, I've had them all over the years, and coverage was fine in the ABE, PA area. More recently I had AT&T until somewhere I went often was a dead zone. Switched to VZW and very rarely hit a dead spot.Ultimately that's really what it comes down to. Whatever someone else might be using doesn't have much of an impact one way or another on someone else (short of those people using their devices in the same places more or less say the same time).
Yea from what I usually read, AT&T average speeds win, but VZW will get at least some coverage more places. Not referring to speeds but coverage. Seems like AT&T has coverage at your work.
Verizon is a blackhole where I live in Phoenix, AZ. I know this because I've had more than one service call where the tech had Verizon and no service. The last guy couldn't even make a phone call. He had to leave my neighborhood in order to get signal. No matter what the commercials say, in the vast majority of areas, Verizon is far superior.
Well, VoLTE essentially allows you to have voice and data at the same time. I can do that all day on my phones, but I can't speak for anyone else specifically.

So I got an AT&T prepaid SIM yesterday to take advantage of the $50 Unlimited Plus plan (with auto pay), what a great deal. Interestingly video is not throttled, even with the prepaid plan. Verizon is capped at less than 5Mbps, AT&T I was sailing along at 50Mbps. It doesn't really matter as long as video plays nicely, but the principle does bother me. I'm paying for
Me and my family are using a family plan from AT&T been doing so for the last couple of years (10+),
any of you using anything different?
From what I’ve read it is the same as their postpaid until you hit the 22gb soft cap. It is QCI 8 like their other post paid plans; aside from consumer elite which is QCI 7.I saw this plan and was intrigued by it. So is the data speeds prioritized at all or are you pretty much using the network like you would on the postpaid plan?

Yeah, it is a really good deal. The only issue is my Apple Watch, can’t be added to a pre paid plan, which is annoying. I’ll give it a month or two and see whether I really miss cellular on my Watch.Oh wow, that is a steal of a deal then. I average around 2-3 GB of data per month so I’ll never get to that point. That’s even a better deal than their unlimited starter plan on postpaid, where they slow you down if the network is congested and no hotspot option.

I wouldn’t call it “preferred” since no company’s customer service can make me rage like AT&T’s, but I’ve been with AT&T since they were Cellular One (before Cingular), and I got my first cell phone (25 years or so now). For the longest time they were the only provider that got service out in our area. Now I could likely do as good or slightly better with Verizon, but with the number of lines and devices we have, I can’t make myself go through the hassle of switching. Plus I always have that loyal customer card with AT&T, which does get me some decent discounts every now and then.
Yea we’ve been with AT&T when they were 1st AT&T around 1987 - 1990. I’ve gotten some really great loyalty deals in the past and recently. Like 2 year contracts with subsidized pricing.
There was a period when AT&T stunk big time. Remember the drop call fiasco and crappy data?
We were going to switch to Verizon until I happen to run into an AT&T tech on campus where I work because he needed access to a tower. I picked his brain and said don’t switch that’s why I’m here. You’ll see in the next week service will be like night and day. He was right and since then AT&T has been good.
For me as long as I get good service that’s good enough for me. I don’t care about speed tests and that stuff. As long as I can get the data that I could use my iPhone without any hitches I’m good. Don’t use voice much nowadays mostly texting for communication.
Well if I don’t count cellular, I’ve been with AT&T since I got my first home phone line as an adult. I didn’t realize AT&T was in the celluar world before they bought out Cingular (probably just wasn’t as big at the time as some of the other cellular providers), but maybe they were just adding to cellular they already had.
Goodness yes I remember the dropped calls, and poor data. Heck sometimes I still experience the poor data. ;-p
Our service out here isn’t nearly what it once was. I have complained and complained, but they just haven’t done anything to improve it. I’m always hoping. The problem is, Verizon really doesn’t do much better here, so it’s not worth the effort to switch.
If I got better WiFi, it would be even less of an issue, but we can only get satellite (we couldn’t even get enough signal for AT&T’s fixed wireless), and it’s just really inconsistent during bad weather, which we tend to have fairly often.
