Confirmed: You can install the Pgyer beta (overwriting installed App Store version)
and once install is complete, delete the weird profile in Xcode.

Whatsapp will still run perfectly.

that is correct, but if you restart you phone then it will crash until you reinstall the Whatsapp again from pgyer or app store

Hey guys!

I just restored my iPhone completely and set it up as a new iPhone. Now im using the official version ( even when it sucks like hell).

Now I should be safe. There is no possibility that this certificate is still on my iPhone, right?

/var/MobileDevice/ProvisioningProfiles

also, add dc.dm56 to the shabby/shady Profiles. So if you do have either have ppp5 and/or dc.dm56 I strongly advice to DELETE them via the way I earlier talked about.

see my last comment and deleting the WhatsApp App is simply not good
enough

Had both of them. Deleted. Thanks for the tip.
Note: they're a long string of numbers (like bdd5094e-12fd-3ef1-sc21-b1e3937c0d42), but when you open the file with wordpad it shows:

<key>AppIDName</key>
<string>comdcdm56</string>

Guys,

I'm trying to remove both "com.dc.dm56" and "YIT Enterprise" from my iPhone using the iPhone Configuration Utility. However, hitting the Remove button does nothing.

Any ideas as to what to do?

The Provisioning Profiles don't appear under Settings>General either as others have noted. :|

Like I said few posts above, use Xcode.

one importing thing to remember:

when Restoring from a back up; make sure its not a back up with the WhatsApp beta Profile in it...or you will have the same problem again ;)

Someone just explain me what is going on... I have the WhatsApp Beta from pgyer, I'm no developer, I have the 2.11.13 build 3... Can I install the current version or what? What is going on?

read my post #653
Right but u talking about every version? And does he now that who puts there that apps is who created this thread? And what is that ppp5 profiles, how can I find them? I'm not jailbroken.

Okay, took me a while to figure out how to delete provisioning profiles with xcode.

1. Download xcode from the mac app store
2. Connect your phone to your mac and open xcode
3. Go to Window > Devices
4. Select your iPhone on the right side under "Devices"
5. Right click on your iPhone and select "Show provisioning profiles"
6. Select the profile and hit the minus button. Click done.

/edit: I should probably add that I used the whatsapp beta but then switched back to the appstore version.

Do you think that all this hype about the pyger beta is true? That it will install a malicious file which will track and send all data to their servers?

For all we know it could be just another file which has gotten everyone worried and worked up just cos the AppStore hasn't released the official update??

It really doesn't. I've looked through the cert.

Deleted the profile. Hope thats the end of our worries?

this morning my whatsapp want even start and i can't reinstall it from pgyer website either. damn this whatsapp. where can i find guide to self-sign

Well, yesterday all of a sudden my WhatsApp started crashing too in the middle of a conversation. It happened three times already and I didn't even touch the Beta! They NEED to bring out that update!

It's nothing more than a joke now. Day after day goes by without a release or information.
All apps on my phone have now been updated except for spotify and what's app, both major companies.
I simply don't get how this is even possible.
Don't they care about their customers at all?

crap. now i cant download whatsapp from pgyer.

although it finishes installing, it just greys out and the message "the download cannot be completed" appears

is it pgyer's servers or is it cause i deleted the profile?

please show a screenshot of the Certificate you saw....

Thanks for this info, I am not sure how harmful that certificate really was but it definitely wasn’t a good feeling logging into online banking with this installed.
I am now back to the original version and while it obviously sucks, its definitely not bad enough to warrant such a security thread.

If anybody on here ever had their identity stolen (and you would be surprised how easy that can be) you would know why taking a chance on this is a mistake.

the risk:

A malicious provisioning profile could alter the network configuration of the device so that all subsequent traffic from the device is routed via a server controlled by the attacker. This would enable the attacker to read the data being transmitted, including sensitive data such as bank logins, usernames and passwords, etc.

Is this really happen or are you just guessing around a bit without any technological background? unfortunately you don't gave us any proof or technical details to what your IT friend has found, so i don't know if there is really anything or if he only talks a bit ********.

Backups

Hi, i"ve installed this over the official crap but am i right in saying that i'll lose all my chat data from the day i started using the beta if and when i install the official update? Would the only choice be to back it up using iExplorer? Thank You !
