Instead shouldn't watsapp bring out native data migration between Android Google cloud and ios icloud ?
Chat migration is now possible according to WhatsApp FAQs. And it doesn’t involve the cloud (makes sense due to encryption). They are all local transfer between the two phones.

Android to iOS seems the easiest as it just requires iOS 15.5 and move to iOS app on Android.

iOS to Android seems sketchy as WhatsApp support still stated that it’s only between iOS and a Samsung phone with Android 12 using Samsung smart switch. Google said any new phone with Android 12 should be able to do so, but never provided any more details on how.

I have not really seems any testimonials about both processes though.

The most secure one can’t hide the phone number.

Secure communications are not necessarily anonymous communications, people need to learn the difference.

Signal doesn’t market itself as an anonymous communication platform, it markets itself as an encrypted communication platform.

Thus Signal is suitable for only close friends and families. Using it to communicate with friends on the internet is pretty dangerous.

Back in the days of mechanical limited harddrives, PowerPC and Intel CPU's you could shave off some of the app size with XSlimmer (discontinued). It accellerated things significantly on Macs at the time. Today with (larger) SSD's slimming all apps doesn't make that much of a difference anymore.
Wow, I remember XSlimmer. That's a throwback to a very particular time, I guess just Tiger and Leopard.

That's a cool document. I believe that the FBI cannot access messages from these apps. It's just theoretically possible to target individuals if the service provider is in on it.
This provides a more readable table.

No, it’s not. If you need anonymity, use something else. If you need secure non-anonimous communications, Signal is fine. Pretty simple concept. Easy peasy.

Click the first yellow icon (ignore the 'slot not available'), installation through testflight. Feels very much like a beta, but I have no trouble with it.

Now it says beta is full.
I noticed that. This morning when I looked on my iPad, there was a "slot" available. Not realizing that was something to jump on, by the time I got to my desk, it was not available. I think it's something to check back frequently on.

I have been using the native beta via TestFlight for some time, but get message it expires in two days. Can't find a new version or any info. Thanks

My native WhatsApp beta has now expired and won't open, but TestFlight says it expires in 71 days. Anyone know the situation.

I uninstalled the expired version and TestFlight then offered to install the latest version which apparently expires in 71 days, but when I install it is says this version has expired. Note change of icon colour. The lower screenshot is what happens immediately after clicking 'open' in TestFlight after installing the '71 day' version.

I can't get it to install at all from TestFlight now. I'm on Ventura beta so maybe the devs have not targeted 13.0.
Pretty sure they're not going to target a beta OS (although Ventura sure feels more like an alpha) for beta-testing a beta app.

Ventura is pretty solid for me and in some ways more stable than Monterey!

I would agree with you excepting that I installed it direct to Ventura when I got a TestFlight spot and it was working fine before declaring it would be disabled a la Mike's post above. It's a glitch.

Any updates on this? I remember MS Teams had native beta around the same time as this, and they are now fully release, and they are also start working on the next milestone. But this one seems to be stalled, got no information what so ever when it's coming.

The beta program is still running and updates forthcoming, sometimes a few days after the last one expired. I am running v22.24 on M1 MBA and M1 MBP, and it is working well.
