No, this situation has never happened before—to my recollection.

Some releases have been a little late, but nothing like this.

However, it still says it is going to be released today on the U.S. Apple website, so patience is all that is needed!

So, is there a gesture to actually do a "force refresh" e.g. a "check" for updates?

I'm guessing the answer is no, you just wait...

Pulling down that screen doesn't seem to do anything, at least visually.

They will be using the GM ones, which should be the same build, unless today’s release is actually pulled.
