Have I missed something? No real mention of them anywhere and out of stock with Apple for ages. My local store didn't have display ones either. Were these not released on launch day?

Where are the Leather Links?

Yeah, it's pretty clear that the links just aren't out yet. I have one on order with ship date of Oct 2-7, ordered about 45 minutes after the store opened on launch day.
Which frankly, really sucks. If I'd known that I wouldn't get my launch day order for weeks after everyone else because of wanting to try out one of the new leather bands, I'd have ordered it with a different band. I kind of wish I could change it.

It's weird since the Product RED braided solo loop had "Coming Soon" and now "Available in October" on its product page, not sure why they didn't do something similar for the leather links to make it evident that it's not currently available.
Apple sent review kits out to a bunch of various reviewers. My guess is they did this in lieu of having the after-keynote touch&try event.
I have no idea who this guy is, but I'm going to guess he is prominent enough for Apple to send him a kit.

I ordered a Saddle Brown leather link a few days ago, estimated delivery was 20th to 27th October. As soon as I placed the order, the confirmation said arrives 27th.
This morning, on the Apple store, shipping estimates have changed to 16th to 23rd October. My delivery date hasn't changed from 27th but hoping it will do so if newer orders are now going to come a week earlier.

And for sizing, my wrist is about 182mm, so I guess that means I go Large.
Hmm, just checked on the online US Apple store and still seeing mid November for shipping on the Leather Link bands. Where are you seeing October?
Given that he said he'd ordered a few days ago perhaps the expected delivery has shifted out since then?
FYI - Amazon has many of them for 2-4 week delivery at $84.

Good stuff. Really keen to see and hear about the leather link!
Worth noting that the Leather Links on the Apple Store webshop, now have the Pick-up tab available (previously showed Apple Store pickup is currently unavailable and wouldn’t let you search by store), which is a good sign the stores will soon be getting them in stock
I wouldn’t swim in a leather link for two reasons:
#1 it’s leather.
#2 if it comes undone it’s gone.
Last may not be a problem in a pool, but in a lake or ocean....
I’d recommend a sport loop vs sport band. The fabric dries quickly and doesn’t trap moisture.
Another reviewer that got the Black Leather Link (early?), this time paired with a Space Grey aluminium watch, I feel a nicer combo than with the Red Watch and also the lighting is better in this video.

Mine was supposed to arrive at that date but I canceled it when I went to the Apple store. Now I regret it.
