Really not sure what the hold up is. My Sep 24 - Oct 8 delivery is obviously not going to be met, since it's still not even preparing to ship. First time I have ordered from Apple where it looks like they will miss their delivery estimate (unless it ships tomorrow two day delivery). Guess the black ones just aren't ready yet.

Well they made a liar out of me. Got a shipping email today with a delivery of tomorrow.

This is a review for the charging dock but he’s showing off the saddle brown leather link (or is it the California poppy?) at some parts too. Where is mine!?!?

So just picked one up at the apple store and it’s way better than the eBay knock off.

The yellow is a bit brighter than I expected but I love it.

Interesting the apple one has the magnets sitting in the dips. The hooky one doesn’t. I guess this is what you pay for also as expected the leather is much nicer.

So I've had mine now for a bit. I quite like mine in brown with the gold S4 Apple Watch. I find it to be quite comfortable and lightweight. Hasn't loosened for me yet although I do feel the magnets push against another a bit when I rest my wrist down. The magnets are very strong and I don't have any concern for my band to loosen on its own. I think the brown works great with my gold watch and tanner skin tone.

Is your leather link holding its color well? I'm concerned about it developing a patina.

Had two orders (black LL and Brown LL) both scheduled for later October early nov delivery. No movement on either. So I went to Apple store app to check current shipping expectations for these bands and it said 10/22 for both!

So I cancelled both orders and reordered thru the store. Now both **shipped and arriving tomorrow**.

Lol, weird but true.

Thanks for sharing. I did the same for my brown leather link which is now arriving Friday.

Unfortunately the blue one still has a long wait so I kept my preorder for that.

Does anyone know if these leathers will patina? Obviously I am buying the saddle brown and baltic blue for the color. What I don't want is for them to turn dark like the iPhone cases do.

I would assume (and hope) so. Leather always looks better when it’s worn in a little IMO.

IMO the reason to buy the Apple leather link over a knock off is exactly this. We can assume that Apple has gone to great lengths to source a leather that can patina and age well, even when worn on the wrist daily.

There is a *huge* disparity between leather qualities in the marketplace, and what qualifies as "leather" would humble any consumer. We can assume apple will provide top-grain leather (which is an actual thing, as opposed to "genuine" leather, which is not a thing) and that a knock off will most certainly not be top-grain.

That is the difference between patina and not patina, over the long run. For greater understanding just imagine oiling suede: Doesnt work out well. Non-top-grain leather is basically some type of suede.

To clarify, "genuine" leather specifically denotes something you dont want, which is a "plywood" of sub-layer leathers, glues and fillers.

At first I thought you had some serious scratches/cracks on your watch face then noticed it was your arm hair...lol

So to everyone here who has both a Leather Loop and a new Leather Link - which one do you prefer and why?

I had 3 loops but sold them long ago. Personal preference but I hated the way they loop back on themselves. I have skinny wrists and it just never felt like it sat right on me.

Love the link, just a much cleaner look with it overlapping instead of looping back.
