Maybe they would pay for apps with carrier billing.Except, then they’d learn that Android users don’t pay for apps, so there’s that.

Well with Androids OS, the system would automatically scale any app to fit whatever screen the app was being run on so there was little need for developers to have a special tablet version.
Are we saying the iPad 1 cost a thousand US dollars?I don't care. I paid $1000 for it. And way lower than Brazilian price.
Very true. Several years ago, I started a thread on here comparing the same app running on an iPad and a Nexus 7 side by side. You could clearly see the Android apps were just phone apps scaled to fit the Nexus 7 screen. Very few of those Android apps had tablet versions and this was back in 2013.But just scaling the app to a large sized display means simply having a larger sized phone app, at least for all of my experience using Android tablets, vs. an iPad app that takes advantage of the extra real estate by offering addition panes/columns of functionality. It's a terrible user experience in most cases on Android by comparison.
Maybe in the US and without VAT.Are we saying the iPad 1 cost a thousand US dollars?
Cause it didn't.

I was just browsing for the best Android tablet of 2017 last night and it seemed to be Amazon, Samsung, and the Pixel C.
They cannot complain that the tablets are not selling well if they are all me too devices.
They are actually better at that function. As a guy who likes tablets, I can tell you why they don't sell. A 12" tablet is a niche market. Most use tablets for content consumption, and that size just isn't as good for that.

You cannot even put an 8" tablet in a pocket, 12" is just as portable.A 12 inch screen is great for watching movies and reading comics etc. The problem for me is that it isn't portable. If I had a 12 inch tablet it would have to stay on a desk. That's why I went for the 10.5 inch pro.

Then it is about ergonomics, not portability.I guess we all like different things but a 12 inch tablet would not be comfortable to hold. It's not about putting it in my handbag because it would fit.
See above. Not really. A 12" tablet is a bit bulky to hold.

The solution is lighter tablets.
People manage fine with newspapers, except perhaps the very large ones.Weight isn't the only issue with holding a large tablet for a prolonged period.

I say it again, the solution is lighter tablets. Are you for real? How many people hold up a newspaper for two hours to watch a single movie? And a new paper generally weighs ounces.
LOL. You have a (ridiculous) answer for everything!I say it again, the solution is lighter tablets.

I ageee. Might as well get a laptop or even a desktop. Not really. A 12" tablet is a bit bulky to hold.
If it's going to be desk only, no point getting a tablet.

How is a sheet of A4 paper cumbersome? We will never get tablets light enough to overcome just how cumbersome a large tablet is. As a guy that's used different sized tablets, my 10.5" iPad Pro is the best tablet I've ever watched movies on. The size is just great for a single person watching experience.
