My first gen 12.9 is space grey. Since getting my 12.9, I've tried using a few different keyboards and have settled on the Apple Magic Keyboard. So for the new 10.5, I'll be getting the Silver/White because it matches. Honestly, I don't really care what color it is, as long as the different components are all the same color and they look like a matching set :)

Picked Black. The whole "gold" (white) fad is kind of passé now. Black is the new "cool" color since the jet and matte black iPhone 7. I'm sure a new color fad will come along soon.

I am team space grey, albeit I've tried a rose gold iPhone; liked it but opted for my current matte black . As for iPads I doubt i could cope with a white bezel beyond a week !!! The silver & gold variants have never been in the equation; 'am simply not a fan. I wish :apple: spices things up a bit with a black pencil though!!!!

I much prefer the black bezel. The problem I've had with the "white" bezel is that either it is too white and makes the screen look yellowish, or on a screen is that has more of a blue hue it makes the bezel look yellowish. Both my parents currently have white bezel models (my mom a gold Air 2 and my Dad a Silver Air 1) but both have also professed they prefer the black bezel too even though my mom really likes the gold back.

My 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9 is White, my Mini 2 is white. I like it for less glare and fingerprints. My iPhone SE is black only because I could not get a Silver at the time.

I've had iPads, iPods, and iPhones with both white and black bezels. Try as I did, I just can't prefer white bezels. White might appear to hide fingerprints better than black... which is irrelevant to me because the new coating on iPads magnify fingerprints on the screen. The down side is it causes the perception of color to be distorted (which might explain why some appreciate true tone but I don't).

When watching video, the black bezel helps to hide the letterboxing. With white bezels, I find that the thin black border between the edge of the bezel and the active part of the screen ends up creating a frame around web content.

I am glad that I am not the only one who noticed. My old iPads would certainly get grungy over time but they cleaned up quickly and easily. My newest devices are a smudge-fest from day one and practically need a full immersion in a 90%+ alcohol bath to get clean again. What happened?

Black, just feel like the bezel disappears when I am using the device. I've tried white bezels and like the look, but i just find them more distracting.

I am strictly a black-bezel person, but if Apple ever shipped that with a gold body I would be all over it. I think it would be stunning (in an old-Egyptian mummy-movie sort of way).

I have been thinking about this since I posted, and I have to say that I really want the black and gold. Now.

Why not put a thin gold skin on the back of a SG model? Or a black front skin on the gold IPad? Dbrand does that, though the home button and side button don't get coloured black in that case.

Since I really have no preference of color and I think color is nothing more than a superficial preference, I actually choose the least popular color, which is likely Gold with the white bezel. Although disliked, A white bezel never seemed to bother me as it does others.

Black. White bezels are distracting to me and have two other drawbacks:
  • When the screen is off you get this gaping black rectangle surrounded by white instead of a sleek black continues surface.
  • When the screen is on you see the small black rectangle of inactive screen between the lit display and white bezel.
I've never had a white front, but I'm convinced spidering it for a near iPod touch purchase since it is a music only special device and I want it to be "different"
