Always black for 3 reasons:

1. It blends better with the screen.
I find white too intrusive when spending long periods drawing or editing photos.

2. Bezels and back color´s not matching is just not my thing.
I really wish they released a full rose gold iPad.

3. The black bezels serve me as a reference for colors selection.

White because it's more Apple like then black. White looks classier and clean. White is easy on my eyes not sure why people have trouble with it.

My next purchase with the new iPad and iPhone, will both have a white bezel. It was my first year with an white bezel iPhone 7 And It's my new preference.

Got the white in 2015, because it was the only one available, but I would have preferred the black one;
Sold it on Friday, got the 512GB 2nd Gen again in white, otherwise my wife would have noticed the switch.
Ha. Me too

I always buy white. Simply prefer it to black. I have never had any issues with the bezel distracting me like some people claim. I would say buy whatever you prefer, you'll be happy with your choice no matter which bezel colour you choose.

Black bezels blend with a black screen so much better. With the black bezels when the device is off it just looks like a solid black slate instead of a white frame with black in the middle. I always get my devices in black, including my 9.7 Pro

Always black. Probably because everyone in my family has white and the bezel is always filthy. Also seen many dirty bezels out in the public. Plus black is so much better watching movies, etc.

I always find the black ones getting dirty easily especially in the sun you can see fingerprints so easily.

So I've never really thought about this other than just getting whatever color I wanted at the time (for the last few years, it's been white), but all these comments about the black blending better and looking better when the pad is off just have me thinking I should probably be dissatisfied that I chose silver/white again, and I should just return it when it arrives tomorrow and wait for a black.

Just kidding. But seriously, the fact that the new phone might only be black (or look black from the front) and then my pad won't match my phone kinda bothers me.

Went with white. Just not a fan of this iteration of space grey, so white was the only option.

That said, I'd love a matte black iPad to match my phone. Do it Apple!

I ordered the Space Gray and as soon as I got it I didn't like the black bezel at all so I exchanged it for the Gold. iOS is very colorful and vibrant which I think is much better suited for the white bezels, especially for reading or social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Now if all you're going to be doing is watching movies then I'd go with the Space Gray.

You'd think drawing and reading apps would blend better with a white bezel.

or they might make the screen look off-white depending on the colour temperature and the lighting in the room.

Black. White bezels are distracting to me and have two other drawbacks:
  • When the screen is off you get this gaping black rectangle surrounded by white instead of a sleek black continues surface.
  • When the screen is on you see the small black rectangle of inactive screen between the lit display and white bezel.
I've never had a white front, but I'm convinced spidering it for a near iPod touch purchase since it is a music only special device and I want it to be "different"

maybe small points, but good ones. When the Air 1/Air 2 came out (whichever was the first with the laminated screen) I had the same issue. The screen floats beautifully close to the surface, but that effect is spoiled by the border between screen and white bezel. That's masked with a black bezel

Interesting that it seems like only those of us who prefer black bezels seem to notice that border.

I've had so many iDevices in black in the past that I am honestly over them. I do think if they would have released a Jet Black iPad Pro 10.5, I would have snagged that to match my iPhone. I really don't care for space gray. I am going with the white bezel this time in gold. I think the gold looks real classy, its not a gaudy gold. Trying to pair it with either the Saddle brown or Taupe sleever/cover.

I always had black devices, but went white with iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Mini 2 and iPad Air 2. I have since switched back to black with iPhone 7 Plus and iPad Pro 12.9. I got sick of the white FAST. The bezel is clean looking, but black is better for a lot of what I like. (Movies, games, etc)

I received my 10.5 iPad Pro in Rose Gold and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve always have black iPads but went for a change and although I was a bit apprehensive I’m really glad I went for this colour. It is beautiful and really brightens up the content on the iPad.

I went for a gold iPad Air 2 to match my 5S at the time. Then I got a gold 6S.

I thought I was going to go for the black bezel, but the white iPad just feels more like an Apple device to me. I use my mum's black iPad Air from time to time and it doesn't look as good to me.

I picked Rose Gold for my 10.5" IPad Pro. It's more unique and probably has slightly higher resale value down the road.

Gold. When I buy a brand new, high-end Apple device, I want people to NOTICE it. I pick the color with the most flair, the one that will turn the most heads. In Gold's case, its also a nice choice because it emphasizes my finances. Not that any Apple users are all that poor, but Gold is somewhat reserved for those who have serious amounts of $$$.

I actually prefer the black bezel, but these reasons were why I picked a maxed out gold iPad.
First of all, no it isn't. Tons of people have gold. The amount of gold will differ based on how much money you have.

Second, on an iPad, it's just a color. Nobody looks at a gold iPad and thinks "wow, this person has 'serious amounts of $$$.'" You want people to think you have a ton of money. Buy actual gold jewelry and wear it all over your body.

Most of my iPads have had white bezels and I preferred that because they looked cleaner to me. I originally ordered rose gold and then cancelled and decided to get silver. I went to the Apple Store yesterday planning to get silver and when I saw the space gray with black bezels it really had the wow factor compared to the other colors in my opinion. I ended up with the space gray and I love it.

I went with a gold 10.5. Every iOS device I have ever purchased had black bezels so I wanted to change it up this go around. Now that I have it in my hands, I am very happy with my decision.
