Black bezel iEverything including my 9.7 and 12.9 pro ...

Except SE I got gold , had iPhone 5 too long in slate and space grey felt regressive in ways from that at the time

Still wonder if I shoulda gotten space Grey SE at times but easier to spot the little bugger laying around

Got a black 10.5 but changed it for a white one. Fingerprints on the black borders make my OCD go crazy. Realise that’s why I have always used white iPhones and iPads.

Black.

The why.

Because it was kind of different than what I did the times previously. Which was different than than what I did the times before that.

The 3G I did black, 4 black, 4S White, 5White/silver, 5s White Gold, 6Plus White Gold, 6sPlus Black SpaceGrey, 7Plus JetBlack.

But now I have had my 'stormtrooper edition' since that stark white silicon case was released for the 7Plus.

I'm always going to get black bezel. Even if I have to wait for it. I think it's going to be an even nicer combination with OLED and dark mode.

I do like the black bezel. However, I don't see OLED making its way to the iPad. I think by that time when the iPad is ready for a new display, it's likely going to be micro LED. Dark mode, well, we all know how that is always requested feature from Apple.

Don't want it to be "one of those" color threads again but especially in case of the iPad Pro, I have been debating a lot on what bezel color I should go for this time.

I had ordered a white/gold iPad 10.5 just when the store opened again after WWDC. In fact, I always bought black Apple products, iPad 1, Mini 2, iPhone 5s, 6s, 7, so I wanted a change initially. But right after ordering, I started to wonder if I made the right decision. After watching a dozen videos and pictures, I decided to cancel my order and purchase a Black/Space Grey once again.

I know, for media consumption black bezels are generally preferred because they blend in better, it also seem to make the screen pop more than a white bezel. The iPad Pro however, is made for a lot more than just media consumption. With its pencil it's awesome for drawing, IOS11 brings productivity a lot closer to laptops, true tone makes books look like real paper.. You could say, all in favor of white.

Is black still the way to go for most of ya? Or did people actually go the opposite with the new Pro's and went for white instead?

Which bezel color did you go for and why? What is the main purpose for your iPad Pro?
Always Silver and white for me. White/Silver feels classier and the colors match any Smart Cover and what not (I might have gotten Rose Gold or Product Red if they offered them on iPad 12.9" lol.)

For the iPad 10.5 I like the white bezel because I find it a lively color, but for the larger 12.9 I’d chose the black one because I think the white would make it appear too much oversized.

I always pick white for my iOS devices. I find black dull. Plus if you get a black front it means you can't get a nice colour like gold or rose gold on the back.

I'm curious. Do people who make their purchase decision based on the color of the back use a clear skin or case (or nothing at all)? If a not, why is the back color important?

I prefer to use my iPads with only a cover and clear skin on the back. (but my need for black bezels prevents me from enjoying those non-space gray colors) :(

I use a clear case with my jet black from Tech21. I care that you can see the color.

However with black bezel it is more of how it makes colors pop. When reading or watching anything, white bezel distracts me. Like how most televisions I see are black, it just blends into the backdrop for me and allows me to focus on what is on the screen at the time.

I've yet to choose a white bezel device. Maybe next time, although I've said that before.

Just made the plunge and got a 10.5" wifi + cellular 512. Super excited for it to be here! I'm moving toward having just one device, having had two iPads before. Anyway I went with the white and silver. I always like the white bezels as I do a lot of reading and find that they kind of just fade away to me. Also I just really like how the white and silver looks - it's just so classically Apple to me. My first Apple devices were a white iPod in 2006 and a white MacBook in 2008, so maybe I'm just biased :)

I also like it when all my stuff matches, and since all my accessories are white or silver or some combination of the two, it just fits right in.

White because black shows fingerprints so badly. Plus, with TrueTone the white of the display actually matches the white of the bezel so it looks awesome. In my opinion.

Always black... well, almost always - I did venture over to white with the OG iPad and iPad Retina and 6+ (only b/c that was what was available)... but wherever possible I go with Black/Space Gray/etc, I just like the look much more

I had had both, and I will say now that I do pretty much prefer the black over the white. The one thing that still irks me about black is that it does show way more fingerprints and smudges, and I don't even get why. I am not talking about the bezels even...I am talking about the screen. When I had my white iPads I didn't notice the smudging as much even on the screens. I do not get it. Lol

However, now that I am back on black, I will probably never go back (just like the saying). Lol. The only thing that would make me change is if they offered more colored backs, and then changed the way they do the front bezels. I hate how the red iPhones have a white front, looks like GARBAGE. Why isn't it black? Or hell, why isn't it red? If they offered a navy blue phone or iPad with a navy blue bezel, or a black bezel, I would get it.

P.S. Does anyone have a white bezeled pro 12.9? Now that I am thinking about it, I don't think I have EVER seen one, lol.

I have white IPP 9.7 and black 10.5. I am never going back white again. Love how the black bezel disappears more with movies. Also, I noticed with the planet wallpapers it almost blends the screen into the bezel.

When these devices cease to have bezels, bezel color should be one less decision to make.

I'm not sure why people want devices without bezels. They serve as a way to hold the device while not covering up what's on the screen.

This is exactly how I feel. I struggled very hard with the S7 Edge. I would always touch the corners of the screen. It drove me absolutely bonkers.

That and the phone itself got incredibly hot. So without a case, I could not even hold it honestly.

I'd definitely miss bezel.
