I've long wanted the black/gold combo too!! It would look amazing!

I completely agree. Am off to the Apple Store to do some table-flipping until I get what I want...*

Approx. 75/25% so far. Majority of the people still opt for a black bezel.
Some very interesting reasoning i've come across in this thread so far :)

I wasn't aware that Apple offers a gold bezel.

It's ridiculous how many people are posting about the color of the back plate when this thread is about the bezel.

Yet, you don't offer your own opinion on the bezel color/thread topic, only to complain about other forum members being off topic? Threads commonly go off topic and branch off into different tangents. It's happens.

On Topic: As I previously stated on page 2 in this thread, I actually prefer the white bezel compared to the black. I like the cleaner look of the white and preferably it matches well with my liking for the Silver aluminum backing.

iPad Air 2: White / Gold
iPad Mini 3: White / Silver

The third iPad was destined to get a black bezel.

I'm thinking about ging silver for my 10.5 Pro. The retro Apple look, hehe. Remember when black used to be a premium color on Apple products?

Went for black I got a silver 6s and I've reggretted it since launch day.
As others have said I find the white bezels look yellow and dirty when you have a white screen.

I think the type of people that read the forums know very well what color bezel corresponds with the back color options.

For some reason I want my iPad to have the classic white bezel because I still think of that color when I think Apple - since the iPod. That being said I have a matte black iPhone.

Don't want it to be "one of those" color threads again but especially in case of the iPad Pro, I have been debating a lot on what bezel color I should go for this time.

I had ordered a white/gold iPad 10.5 just when the store opened again after WWDC. In fact, I always bought black Apple products, iPad 1, Mini 2, iPhone 5s, 6s, 7, so I wanted a change initially. But right after ordering, I started to wonder if I made the right decision. After watching a dozen videos and pictures, I decided to cancel my order and purchase a Black/Space Grey once again.

I know, for media consumption black bezels are generally preferred because they blend in better, it also seem to make the screen pop more than a white bezel. The iPad Pro however, is made for a lot more than just media consumption. With its pencil it's awesome for drawing, IOS11 brings productivity a lot closer to laptops, true tone makes books look like real paper.. You could say, all in favor of white.

Is black still the way to go for most of ya? Or did people actually go the opposite with the new Pro's and went for white instead?

Which bezel color did you go for and why? What is the main purpose for your iPad Pro?
Black because all my devices are black. It simply looks better with on screen media.

Yep, always black for me. It just disappears when viewing and there is just the screen.

Exactly what I was going to type, word for word.

I think the white bezel looks cool, but it's distracting when viewing content. I have a black iPhone for personal use, and a white one for work. That was all I needed to confirm my feelings on the matter.

I always get black. I feel the screen gets lost and feels smaller in the white bezel. It's not a fashion decision like a car color to me, just practical based on my perception of the screen wrapped in each color.

Gold. When I buy a brand new, high-end Apple device, I want people to NOTICE it. I pick the color with the most flair, the one that will turn the most heads. In Gold's case, its also a nice choice because it emphasizes my finances. Not that any Apple users are all that poor, but Gold is somewhat reserved for those who have serious amounts of $$$.

I actually prefer the black bezel, but these reasons were why I picked a maxed out gold iPad.

This is one of the more amazing posts I've ever read. Just got off the phone with someone who's an ER nurse, a pal who finally managed to save up enough dough for an iPhone and awhile back got a 6s Plus in gold and white... incidentally we had been talking about how more categories of employment are edging into the neighborhood of "the working poor"...

Then since I need to upgrade my iPad and have been thinking to stretch my rice and beans budget for a Pro, I popped in here and I bump into your post that suggests both my friend and I should be focused on something without gold trim.

In a thread about bezels no less. Thanks for the input.

Black and Space Grey combination looked lifeless to me.I always perfer White front.

I do really like the look of an iPod touch that I have (silver and white), especially when I don't have a case on it, but for an iPad I think I may stick to a black bezel. The white bezel on the iPod touch sometimes distracts me when I'm watching any kind of video on it. I'm likely to go see the iPad Pro options in person before I decide.

Because we're talking about bezels, not back color.

Well that's the main reason I'd choose a white bezel, probably paired with Rose Gold.

I have a black iPhone Plus and prefer that for the seemless experience with watching movies, but the iPad's dimensions make it less suitable for video. I'd use it primarily for reading and writing so a white bezel wouldn't matter.
