I used to use mainly chrome, but now use Safari more. Ad blocking is mandatory to survive on the Internet of 2016...

i just switched from Dolphin to Safari. It's the first time I have exclusively used the defaul browser and I really like it. I have all my bookmarks loaded into it and I have ad block turned on. I really like when you start to scroll on the page it hides the address bar.

What's your favorite and why?

Safari or Chrome depending on what I'm doing.

Safari 100%. It syncs across my phone iPad and Mac perfectly, saves all of my passwords and now in iOS 10 there's split view and unlimited tabs too, not that I've ever opened that many I'd lose track of them :D

Chrome does that, too, and you don't need to use all Apple devices.

That it does. But considering I've tried all of the alternative operating systems out there quite extensively, for mobile and desktop and still prefer the Apple options. Using all Apple devices isn't really much of an issue for me personally, so I don't see it as a negative, indeed it's a choice I'm happy to make.

I also prefer using Safari on Apple devices, but I was just pointing out that Chrome does all the things you mentioned.

Aye it's always good to have choice. Should also mention on that matter that Firefox, which was my own browser of choice until 5 or 6 years ago, will also sync up across all of your devices. Must give ff a try again, it's been a looooong time since I've seen it.

I use safari. I used firefox when I had a windows machine, but haven't used it in over a year. Ive tried chrome and it worked well, it's just that safari is there and there is no need to download anything more. It does what I want it to do.

Hi,

I use chrome which has the ability to open unlimited tabs and you can save passwords.

You actually reach the 32 or so tab limit of Safari? Either way though, Safari gets unlimited tab in iOS 10. And Passwords have been saveable for quite some time if you use keychain (which will sync those passwords across all your Apple devices.)

Though if you're a PC user the iCloud keychain isn't that useful :p

Safari just about exclusively on Mac and most of the time on iOS. I do have Chrome installed and use it occasionally on iPad and iPhone, because some sites just seem to display/function better in Chrome and Chrome does a much better job of forcing desktop sites on iOS than Safari.

I use Safari as my primary browser because of support for adblockers, but I use Opera on all of my devices (and as a secondary browser on the iPad) because it offers the same cross-platform, syncing, plug-in support as Chrome but in a much leaner and cleaner package.

I use Safari on my iDevices, but Chrome on my Mac. Safari edges out chrome a bit for me on iDevices because it is a little bit smoother and overall the UI is slightly improved for mobile use IMO (browsing news articles, etc).

On Mac it's a whole other story, where Safari is much less snappy than Chrome and also the tab management is terrible on Safari. I also run into the necessity of flash over and over again, despite how hard I try and avoid it. Even to this day with flash installed, I cannot use Pandora on Safari on my Mac. I've tried the click to flash plugin, click to plugin, and also normal flash installed. Chrome is just nice and simple, the tab management is 100x better (especially when you have 5+ tabs open - when the tabs exceed the screen), and overall is way faster to load than safari on Mac.

What crashes?

Chrome for iOS is the most unstable application I've ever downloaded from the app store, bar none. I attempted to use it on a stock, updated iPhone 5s, with plenty of free space, over five different builds of Chrome. I don't really care if you believe me or not, but the negative reviews and comments of other users are all over the internet if anyone cares to look.

I have no reason not to believe you, or to care at all really. All I know is that I do hours worth of browsing on Chrome on my iPad everyday (even right now) and I can't recall ever experiencing a crash. Sometimes there's no explaining why some people have problems with certain software and others don't.

Safari mostly, but just started with Chrome, because I use that on everything else. My phone (Note 5) and my Mac and other tablets I have (Android).

I use safari. It just works and I have all my bookmarks saved on there. I use it on my iPhone and Mac too.
