Idk about the iPad but on a iMac chrome is definitely better than safari .. It handles external displays better than safari especially when trying to full screen a video to one display , Safari always will take up both displays leaving me with a black screen on one display and full screen video on the other, forcing me to use mirror display, and chrome is so much faster . If there are any cons about it they aren't near as bad as safari . i can't wait until we can delete these programs Apple thinks we need

Safari everywhere... because i want everything automatically synced between my iPhone, iPP, MBP and three Mac Pros.

Having all of my passwords and bookmarks automatically synced is a godsend...

Is it possible to change this?

On my Mac, I can go to a command prompt and change the default browser with the 'defaults' command at the command line.

I wonder if this is possible, on a jail broken i-device, where someone could log into os x/unix as root, and attempt to change the default browser with the defaults command?

Unfortunately, at least for me right now, all i-devices are stuck on 10.3.2, and I am not currently aware of a jail break for this version.

A search suggest that, for jail broken i-devices, an app titled "BrowserChanger" is available that will change the default web browser.

Safari

If I want to download something I use iCabMobile

Have Chrome as a back up also

I use Safari on everything. I quite like using default applications that sync everything all around and work for my needs. When visiting a media site that requires Flash, I use Firefox.

At work i primarily use a Windows desktop with Firefox as my default. Unfortunately, I have to use SharePoint and then I revert to Edge.
