Just for giggles, I ordered a knock-off Symmetry with no-logo option. When it arrives, I will let you know if the buttons come off - it's a fraction of the price and seems to be the same as original Otterbox (won't be surprised if it's out of the same factory, lol).

I saw the Symmetry at Target. Good grip on the sides but the back is slick hard plastic. So.... dunno. Might wanna try it. My wife just got one of those pop socket wallets thanks to someone that suggested it in this thread (thanks!!) and she likes it. Has me interested in the Otter Pop or whatever it’s called. That would give me some grip on the back at least. Has anyone tried that variant?

Love the way the case looks (otterbox symmetry-feeling rusty/rat rod). Still no pics with it on the phone, but this is the first otterbox that I’ve owned that does not fit tightly around the entire phone. The right hand side (looking at the phone) where the power button is at doesn’t sit flush on the phone. There’s a tiny bit of flex when squeezing the phone from the sides. Maybe all symmetry cases are like that and I just haven’t noticed because I’ve had the black and clear? And the power button isn’t as clicky as I’m used to from my other symmetry cases. I’ll give it a try for a few days, but I’m seriously considering returning it. The color and look is exactly what I’m looking for and making me keep it as of now.

Edit: There is way to much play on the side where the power button sits. Already initiated a replacement that will be here tomorrow and I’ll return this one back to amazon.

I think I was the one that suggested the PopSocket Wallet. Having it, without a PopSocket, helps with grip.

I had the Otter Pop Symmetry for the iPhone XS....because of the design, there wasn’t as much room between the PopSocket and the phone for my fingers to comfortably fit. If i were you, i would find one in a store and check that out first. Of course, everyone’s mileage will vary.

I’m not sure what phone you have but I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max and I have no issues that you have. My button is very clicky and there’s no looseness around the power button.

The one I have with the pop socket fits pretty good. I’m waiting at the moment for Amazon to bring OB without pop socket. Hopefully it fits just as good.

It’s for the 11 pro and I edited my post. A replacement is coming tomorrow from amazon. You’re right, it shouldn’t have any of these issues. It’s the first otterbox that I’ve owned that fits poorly. I have 2 defender pro’s, 1 clear symmetry, 1 black commuter and I’ve had 2 black symmetry cases all for the 11 pro. This is the first case that I’ve had from otterbox that fits poorly.

Just got OB Mandarin red/puree pumpkin case. Feels pretty good. It is slick on the back but it doesn’t bother me much since sides are grippy. It’s a little loose by volume and power button but I think it will be ok.

EDIT: It is too slick. Put on arm of couch and slipped right off. Return...
