Are the Magsafe Symmerty cases thicker on the back than the standard versions?
No. They feel like the same thickness. The sticker MagSafe is in an area that is cut out just a bit.

The only real difference is that the MagSafe version doesn’t have the same texture on the back like the regular Symmetry. Most likely rules by Apple.

Does the Magsafe lay flat on a table or still wobbles like the regular version?
Is the Magsafe smooth on the back?

Barely any texture. Almost smooth.

I have the 12 pro so they all lay flat
I knew there was difference with the magsafe symmetry and last years 11 pro, i returned it too slippery and white ring on the back from charger lol, is it safe to get the regular black symmetry and the back and sides will have same texture as last years?

Have ordered a black Ringke fusion X cameo, hopefully as good as last years.

To me the plastic feels a little different from last year but still more texture without the MagSafe

So I finally heard back from Dbrand after moaning on Twitter. Funny old thing!

They are releasing revised cases next month. They will send me one then.

Originally I wanted a clear and minimalistic case for my Mini but after trying the Spigen Liquid Crystal (too bulky) and a few Peel look-alikes from Aliexpress (too cheap), I opted for the Baltic Blue leather case. It might be expensive, but it's the only case I've tried so far that keeps the premium feel of the iPhone without greatly altering its form factor. Also, the metal buttons on the side are a godsend !

Hey Phil!

Apologies for the delayed response as we're experiencing higher than usual order and inquiry volumes. We'd be happy to provide some further context for what you're experiencing.

When developing the Grip Case, among our top priorities was ensuring an extremely tactile "clicky" button experience. To accomplish this, the perfect amount of material needs to be added inside the case, directly at the contact point between the button on the case and the button on the phone.

Not enough material? The button feels mushy.

Too much material? The button ends up pushing the case away from the phone.

The solution is for us to remove a bit of material from inside the button. This will maintain the super clicky button experience you have now, but eliminate the perceived 'warping effect' you see around the lip of the case.

We're working on doing exactly that right now, but don't have a firm ETA on when the re-tooling will be complete. When completing this re-tooling process, there's the chance that the lip of the case will change shape slightly. Because we designed our tempered glass to be a literal perfect fit with the case, we have to be super careful not to disturb the shape of the lip in any way.

With that said, this won't affect the performance of your Grip. You're welcome to check in with us next month and we'll look into arranging a re-tooled unit. Alternatively, we can process a refund if you prefer not to wait.

Speak soon!

Iphone 12PM 256 Graphite. Otterbox defender pro, otterbox alphaglass screen protector. Love them both(as I did on my xs max) Hate the new installation jig for the screen protector.
