Peel case clear hard is very minimal and bare whilst good to hold in hand compared to Apple clear case. Clear case quality is substandard compared to Peel. That’s just my take. Others may have different opinions.

Wallet seems to hold fine but not strong as MagSafe cases.

Anybody try the MagSafe Cyrill Color Brick? Would be interested to hear how it is. Not sure about the visible magnet pattern but I like that it’s a bit muted.

I would go clear hard for 12 pro and clear soft for pro max. Soft case texture gives nice grip in hand and pro max needs that. But a bit of oil magnet yet not bad as Apple clear case for oil smudges.
Does Peel offer much in the way of drop protection for the occasional drop from low heights? Or is it mostly to prevent scratches and other cosmetic stuff?

I guess mostly scratches and cosmetic stuff.
Clear soft may have some impact absorption.
Clear hard definitely not. But hard case is my favourite. First time, I felt like holding the phone caseless. You don’t even notice it is there.

One of the reason I chose 2 type cases in same household. Mrs is clumsy and dropping phone like no tomorrow.
I dropped my iPhone X twice in 2 years of usage. I am quite anal with phone having dent/scratches and very carful not to drop it. So chose hard case for myself as believe in myself

Finally received the Peel case along the line of several other cases.

Out of all ordered, clear case only returned as not usable with oil and smudges.

Saddle brown is my Mrs’.

Was the clear case you returned the Peel?

Sorry! Didn’t read far enough.

Does anybody know how Apple will handle an exchange/return with everything being closed? My local Apple store hasn’t been open for a couple of months now.

Sorry I did not make it clear enough. I have returned Apple clear MagSafe case. It was cracked at bottom corner, oil magnet and very slippery. Not sure how people are using Apple clear case.

Peel clear hard/soft both cases are superb in quality.

I’ve chatted with apple support through the app and they email a fedex prepaid shipping label. You have to box up your item, print the shipping label and drop it off at a fedex retail store or any open store that accepts fedex drop-offs.

I got both clear hard and soft cases from Totalee. Similar to Peel. I prefer the hard case on my Pro Max tho. Great fit and extremely clear almost like no case at all. Material is a hard polycarbonate so it shouldn't yellow. It's my second fave behind my Sheath case.

I have to advise against Pitaka's Aramid fiber cases, this is my iPhone 12 Pro MagEZ case from Pitaka, it gets damaged extremely easily from any type of drop at all, even 1-2 feet drop, each contact is guaranteed to get damaged. From the marketing they advertise it as bullet-proof, durable, scratch-free etc, this is highly deceiving and I wish I had known it was so fragile.

I mean as long as it protected the iPhone, it did it's job right?

Any type of case except maybe Otterbox's defender outer rubber shell or maybe a very squishy TPU will look like that if it's dropped.

You're lucky the phone didn't hit on all that open space all around the sides. That is the major reason I don't use this type of case. Way too much unprotected area around the sides, top and bottom.

2 drops, first image on smooth floor, the 2nd and 3rd on concrete. Note the concrete drop had a primary point of contact, but it left 2 other 'specks' of damage. So 3 points of damage from 1 drop of around 1.7 feet. The last photo shows the edge wearing off slightly from normal use from the past 2 months, which also surprised me. There is no doubt this case is extremely fragile.

Look, I get a concrete drop is significant, no doubt about it, but it was 1.7' and this case is supposed to be bullet-proof, durable, scratch-free etc. There is heavy marketing on the 'premium' aramid fiber, this is taken from Pitaka's own website, a blog post:

"What Is Aramid

The term “aramid” is short for “aromatic polyamide”. Aramid fibers are man-made high-performance fibers, with molecules that are characterized by relatively rigid polymer chains. These molecules are linked by strong hydrogen bonds that transfer mechanical stress very efficiently, making it possible to use chains of relatively low molecular weight.

Aramid fibers share some general characteristics that distinguish them from other synthetic fibers:

  • High strength
  • Good resistance to abrasion
  • Good resistance to organic solvents
  • Non-conductive
  • No melting point
  • Low flammability
  • Good fabric integrity at elevated temperatures

Armor Phone Case Review

You may take notice of that the common phone cases are non-sturdy, easily broken and deformed, especially for the plastic case and silicon case. Different from other material phone cases, Aramid phone case & Aramidcore phone case are made of aramid, and they are more durable and with good protection, namely what I mentioned armor phone case at the beginning of this post.

PITAKA bulletproof cover is strict with the raw material and production technology, which makes the phone cover with splendid quality. It’s the really worthy slim, light & thin bullet proof case for your phone. From my own case, I’ve never seen such an amazing phone case with bullet-proof function. What a cool product! Furthermore, thanks to the extremely thorough ergonomically design, the slim armor case fits hands nicely, making the using process more comfortable and safe. In some extend, this kind phone case can improve the mobile phone protection during the operation due to the non-slide property."

The marketing advertises it as indestructible practically, but in reality it's very fragile.

In the past I have owned Apple's leather case on my iPhones 8 and 11 and I've had them for around a year with several drops in that timeframe and no significant damage. I know there are other materials and cases that withstand drops really well too which is why I was really surprised about this one.

I also had this case from Element Case, for iPhone 4 with "ultra-high impact resistant TPU polymer" with reinforced corners and an aerospace-grade carbon fiber inlaid back plate" which looked like new after 2 years of use. I remember even giving it to my Dad when I upgraded, and he continued using for a long while afterwards.

I think it's enough having to worry about the iPhone being delicate enough, but also have to worry about a $50-60 case being so fragile as well?

I've noticed that the Apple silicone case leaves a magnetic ring on the back of phone regardless if using MagSafe charger or not.
