Serious Q: do any of us even know what we’re looking for in a case or are we just collecting them all like a bad game or Pokémon. Lol?
I’m looking for the Apple leather case they made for the iPhone 5C, but sized for the 12 Pro Max and with the metal buttons like the 12 Pro Max Apple leather case.

The Cyrill Leather is a bigger, heavier case and would provide better drop protection.
Both fantastic cases and you can't go wrong with either.

I had some side by side pictures, let me go look for them.
How do you think it’ll hold up over time? That’s one of my biggest gripes with real lather cases: I hate how they age. Patina just looks like grimy scuff marks to me.

I’m also wondering how the magnets are. Spigen’s Mag Armor apparently has weak magnets, and I think Cyrill is part of Spigen.

The Cyrill has FAKE leather so no worries about patina. The Cyrill Leather has no magnets unless you order the graphite one.

My Ringke Onyx arrived in the mail today. Here are my observations:
- The pictures that @Hooterville shared are accurate. I noticed in the pictures that the Onyx was slightly taller than the Sheath, and I can confirm that is the case.
- The Onyx doesn't wrap around the screen as much as the Sheath. In fact, the stainless steel frame at the top can be seen, but the sides, bottom and corners are tucked in).
- The bottom lip of the Onyx is higher than the other sides. Each of the corners are raised higher than the sides of the case, but the bottom lip is the same height as the bottom two corners.
- The grip on the Onyx is better than the Sheath, especially the sides. The sides of the Onyx feels like the grooves that are on metal fingernail files.
- The buttons on the Onyx are on par with the Apple leather metal buttons.
- The cutout for the lightning cable is beyond brutal on my pinky finger. In fact, it feels like I'm pressing down really hard with one of those orange plastic razor blades.

If you're undecided between the Ringke Onyx and the Caudabe Sheath, I would personally still recommend the Caudabe Sheath. As for me, I will be going back to the black Apple leather case. To me, it has the best buttons and pinky comfort. I also mentioned earlier that my Apple leather case has better grip than the Caudabe Sheath. Well, it's even more grippy now because it feels like the material has started to melt. I read others mention this, and I can confirm that mine has started to do this as well.

Been rolling in the Ringke Onyx for 3 straight days and this is starting to be one of my favorite cases

Wow really?

Got the Cyrill yesterday. I have been using it since last night. It is not bad. Thicker than I would like. But not a show stopper. Offers more grip than the Apple leather case that I have been rocking for awhile now.

I may return the Aneu if I can, not sure. Would not mind trying a Defender but not sure what the verdict is around here.

You still using the UAG Civilian at all?

A thin case that’ll never leave my rotation, the Power Support Air Jacket. One of the OGs of iPhone cases. I swap cases almost on a weekly basis and so far the hard plastic isn’t scratching my phone yet. Grippy plastic feels fantastic and your hands would have to be absolutely filthy to leave any visible marks on the case.

I like this a lot for a thin case. Hmm. Lol.

Which exact Air Jacket is that? I got the full clear one and it’s pretty dang slick...

Got the smoke matte colorway, here’s the marketing preamble from their website:

The Clear Matte coating is a thin, unique finish on the clear Air Jacket that ensures that your phone stays protected plus gives you a grippy feel so that your phone won't slip out of your hand. The unique clear matte finish provides a slight twist on the clear case by still showing off the sleekness of your iPhone 12/12 Pro but adding a tweak of rubberized texture to the case. The case is slightly translucent so the unique Apple colors of the iPhone 12/12 Pro show through with a soft, hazy texture.

I have the Defender case. It’s overall a good case, but some things to note. It makes the phone wide and definitely not as easy to hold, it adds weight to it that you can feel, it’s slimmer than previous models, the case creaks sometimes (probably because less plastic used on the slimmer design), the sides are flush with the screen with the screen protection at the top and bottom only (like mous case design). If I had to pay original price, I don’t think the value is there. Would go with something like Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro (which I also own) if I had to choose between the two.

So some thoughts.

Spigen Ultra Hybrid - a decent temp case, but that’s going back. Decent grip but the buttons are completely flush with the side of the case, which is annoying.

Spigen Thin Fit - It’s nice. It has a nice smooth feel. If I hadn’t gotten it at the same time as the Ringke Onyx I might have used it more. Undecided on whether or not I’ll send it back. Also I need better drop protection.

Ringke Onyx- hasn’t left my phone. Grip is good even for my typically dry hands. I like how it keeps the boxy feel of the iPhone instead of rounding the corners. I really like the buttons!

Coming tomorrow - Evutec and Sheath.

I loved the Phone Rebel on my 11PM, so I’m really looking forward to the new release, which is supposedly next month for the closed sides and sometime afterwards for the open sides.

I ultimately would like a bumper to see the back but still have protection, but there aren’t really any options, with K11 gone, Rhinoshield way too thick, and the Supcase is only for the smaller phone.

Yeah the PR case was definitely not too shabby. I didn’t know that’s what their timeline looked like

I have a Evutec Karbon and I love it... and have for last several phones. Not sure which you have coming but.

Thanks for the heads up on that. Maybe I will check out the Supcase. Cheers!

I have the Karbon coming. I always enjoy their cases so I’m excited for this one. It’ll be interesting to see which I stick with - I’m liking this Ringke.

But ultimately, once the PR comes out it’ll be game over. Well hopefully... lol.

Are you using the Evutec Karbon on a 12 pro 6.1”? I had the first batch when the phone was first released and the sides were bulging and the case didn’t fit completely over the edge. Curious to know if that’s changed.

Are you all getting the Ringke Onyx off Amazon or where? I am wanting a case with good grip and good protection. This looks like it may fit the bill although I wish they offered more colors.

No Pro Max. No bulging here
