Just got a Spigen tough armor magsafe for the promax, it's pretty good. It's WAY thinner than previous tough armor cases and the buttons are improving. Not the best, but not bad at all. This is NOT the tough armor and NOT the Spigen mag armor case so don't get confused if you're looking at the various names. I got mine from amazon, it's half the price of buying directly from Spigen. I don't think I would buy it for $50 but for $25 it's pretty good. It's actually not as wide as my bullstrap leather case and only slightly wider than the ringke onyx.
Summary of my favorite character cases:
Max protection - solid suit
Thin case - ringke onyx
Leather - so far it's bullstrap (still waiting for my decoded)
I have a phone rebel case I will be selling here, it's good but I like the solid suit better.

That’s the exact reasons I sent mine back last weekI actually decided after using it for a few hours to send it back. I like cases that don't have any give and this is very weak around the charge port and also by the volume buttons. May not bother some but once I noticed it I couldn't un-notice it so it's going back.
Although I'm very happy with the Apple silicone and leather cases, I decided to try out the dbrand Grip case. I have to say that I think the majority of the regulars here will really, really like this case. Here are some random thoughts:
- It's most definitely the heaviest, widest, and tallest case I have. It's about the same width as the Cyrill Color Brick. For reference, I compared the dimensions to the Apple silicone, Apple leather, Caudabe Sheath, Pitaka Air, Spigen Thin Fit, Cyrill Color Brick, and Ringke Onyx, and the Totallee Clear (Soft).
- The sides of the case feels like a grippier version of the Caudabe Sheath.
- The grip strips on the side aren't as grippy as I thought they would be. Someone on YouTube described them as pine tar, but that's not the case at all. In fact, I think the areas without that material is grippier.
- It passes the pinky test with flying colors. I was especially worried about this because usually cases that look like this are very uncomfortable to use on my pinky, but I'm happy to report that the case feels great at the bottom. dbrand's solution is to have the material around the charger opening wrap and curve around, which prevents there being any sharp edges at the bottom. Like I mentioned, the case is pretty thick, so there's enough material to wrap around the bottom while still leaving a generous opening for the charger.
- I haven't had time to install my skin yet. The back of the case scratches easily without the skin. I compare the material to the turn signal and windshield wiper stalks in vehicles. If you look closely at those stalks in certain lighting, you can see the scratches here and there from where your fingernail accidentally swiped it (you can't feel it but the scratch is a different shade. kind of shiny).
- The buttons are pretty tactile, but not as great as the Apple leather case buttons. They're similar to the other cases I listed previously. I should mention that the buttons have release cuts similar to the Spigen Thin Fit, so if you're worried about dust getting in there, I would avoid this case.
- The corners of the case (and the top and bottom) are raised higher than the left and right sides of the case, which are flush to the screen).
- The lip of the case wraps around to the screen, so I can see it possibly not working with certain screen protectors.
- The overall fit of the case is extremely snug. I almost don't want to even bother trying to remove it from the phone.
The reason I recommend this case to the majority of the regulars here is because I think most of you guys value protection more than anything (Otterbox and UAG). This case feels very sturdy and rock solid. This is the first case I have that feels like I can use it as a hammer if needed.
I'm going to use this case and see if the weight bothers me. I'm still tempted to purchase the Tech21 Evo Check, though. I avoided it because I didn't want to use a wide case, but I'm sure there's no way it'll be wider than the dbrand Grip case.
This has been my daily for two months, with two different skins. Love the case. I find the silicone cases not as nice in the hand and the buttons are stiffer than the leather cases. I just prefer the feel and the button responsiveness with the leather cases. Why there’s a ‘cult’ following for Apple’s leather case while they make perfectly good silicone cases as well.
Seeing all the Capri Blue pictures makes me wish I'd spent a bit more and got one for my 12 Mini. I had the choice of Black/Plum/White/Red, all with £10 off, and went with black. I should have paid Apple full-price and gone with Capri Blue. Might have to see how good John Lewis returns are...

Strange, mine is pristine, however, I do have the Gold variant if that matters.I have theSpace GrayGraphite, and there is definitely dozens of tiny scratches on the PVD coating. Fortunately, the scratches aren't on the side but on the front and rear edges (the thin part of the frame that runs along the front screen and the glass back).
I think I have talked myself out of this now, all the photos I have seen of the Capri Blue case are on either flight coloured of the blue iPhone. I'm not sure it will look so good with a black iPhone. Has anybody got this combination that can share photos to prove me wrong?Seeing all the Capri Blue pictures makes me wish I'd spent a bit more and got one for my 12 Mini.
