Again, the Dark Cherry in direct sunlight settings (there was no sun yesterday)
Yeah, I'm exchanging this today for the green today - Some will love it "Cherry" I'm sure... but this is too purple for my liking, I'll wait for a true deep red/maroon 3rd party leather case, no rush though.

The color shift here reminds me of Color 8 shell cordovan. Love the shade (Not to offend shell cordovan for comparing it to this phone case).

Probably start with a cheaper case off Amazon for day 1, then get something higher quality when the $30-$50 cases come out and are not sold out. Possibly an Apple case but I’d have to see.
As predicted…got the ESR kickstand case for Sierra Blue 13 pro max and deciding on Apple case - black/blue leather, deep cherry leather or abyss blue silicone. Black/blue leather might work w Sierra Blue based on comments here. Might stay away from lighter leather since the ‘patina’ last year wasn’t so pretty.

Edit: felt weird quoting myself, but it’s intoxicating and I’ll now be referring to myself in the 3rd person irl 😂🤣

Went with a Apple Leather Case as per usual for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. My wife went with the Apple Silicon Case as per usual for her iPhone 13 Pro.

I've tried a few premium leather cases in the past. Nomad, Native Union, some real expensive ones from Spain and Italy. I don't think Apple has the best leather out there. But the fit and finish is just better than anyone else I tend to find. With Nomad, Native Union etc even though they sport better quality leather you often end up with mushier buttons, not complete coverage at the bottom or something else. There is always some aspect of the case that feels subpar compared to the Apple Leather Case.

The one that came the closest to replace the Apple Leather Case for me was the Native Union Clic Marquetry leather case for iPhone X. But for whatever reason they decided to redesign the product for the iPhone Xs so it become pretty much a copy of the Apple Leather Case for that generation just with different colours. They upped their game for the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 but they are sticking with the old design of the older Apple Leather Cases with leather wrapping around the buttons making them feel extremely mushy and they are open at the bottom not covering the phone and they don't support MagSafe so you have to rely on the magnets working through the case which is obviously going to be pretty weak.

This is the one for iPhone X which I enjoyed a lot:

My wife prefers the Apple Silicon Cases as she doesn't have to fear water stains and she prefers the added grip from the silicon. I do think the grip is awesome with the silicon cases but I hate how it feels in my pockets, especially when trying to slide it inside or pick it out of my pocket. It also tends to be a dust magnet which I also hate. And I do enjoy the touch and feel or leather far more than the feel or silicon.

I'd like to get the apple clear case if the buttons weren't so incredibly hard to push. I'm guessing nothing will change design wise for the 13.

I went with two for now….
I had the Otterbox Figura for the IPhone 12 Pro and loved it. Minus the fact the wallet didn’t stick well. Hopefully that’s fixed now.

I also went with the “Midnight” leather case (and the MagSafe wallet to match) but as a lot of you have mentioned I received it and yes it’s more blue then black so I may return it as I wanted a true black.

also extremely disappointed that Apple isn’t offering a White silicon case this year! What??

Here are some of the iPhone 13 Pro Max leather cases (sequoia green, golden brown, and midnight) next to the Black leather case for iPhone 12 Pro Max. You can definitely see a difference in the new midnight and old black but it’s really nice in person. It’s a tough pick for me between the green and midnight….

I ordered a Speck Presidio Clear case with MagSafe and Midnight Leather case. Hopefully the Speck case buttons are easy to press.

Thanks for posting. I’m gonna stick with midnight. Just looks like a lighter black. Should patina nicely.

Seems like every case out there has a lip around the camera opening which then means the phone won’t sit flat on a surface. I have a cheap case on my iPhone 11 that is thick enough to protect the cameras and also means the back is flush so sits flat. Are all of the newer cases made thinner because of MagSafe?

What is everyone's favorite thinnest clear case? Totallee, Peel, BareCase, Tozo?

I was thinking of going caseless this year with the iPhone 13 Pro and just using my MagSafe wallet but want to get a backup case just in case. I'm also irritated that Apple isn't offering a white silicone case since that's what I would of got.

I'm currently rocking a Pitaka Air on my iPhone 12 - I love the open top/bottom, it really shows off the stainless steel band while protecting the back of the phone.

Curious if anyone is aware of any similar open top/bottom cases for the 13 Pro?

Just got back from my local Best Buy. Looked at several 13 PM cases0

Spigen Mag/Core Armor- $30, terrible. The tpu was exceptionally flimsy, bent far too easily
Speck Presidio Grip w/mag safe black- $49- would have purchased in a second had it not been the soft coating. The grips are different again this year, to accommodate for the mag safe feature.
Speck perfect clear with mag safe- $49 typically clear case, and the magnet ring isn't my look in a clear case
Tech 21 evo check- $40 no mag safe, a finger print magnet, and the back is shinier and darker than my 12pro
Tech 21 Evo Max- $50 no mag safe, trying to be an Otterbox Defender, no thank you
Insignia (Best Buy brand) w/mage safe $30 flimsy tpu, the back is a shiny hard plastic that could e scratched with a finger nail
UAG Monarch Carbon Fiber $60- definitely made the tpu firmer, if it had mag safe, I might have considered it
UAG Metropolis LT- $50 who in their right mind would buy this. The case is loose all around, total waste imo
Incipio Organicore clear- $45 eh, nothing really needs to be said

Purchased nothing, but at least I know none were of interest to me

I received my Pitaka Air Case for 13 Pro today. The Air Case is my go-to case, which has curbed my need to search for other cases. The most obvious difference 12 Pro to 13 Pro Air Case is the camera opening lip protrudes out more.
