Not withstanding the Otterbox commuter case. What other cases are dual layer type , soft on the inside and harder on the outer shell?
With the Commuter case the area around the camera is saggy since the outer hard frame lacks support in this area.

Unpopular opinion... I really don't like the Caudabe Sheath
Good:
Thin
Good fit and finish
Great buttons
No saggy lips

Bad:
Feels slippery to me
The texture doesn't feel good in my hand. Rough without grip

Am I alone?
Feel the grip is the major advantage to the sheath. Other cases feel slippery this has a bit of texture which is helpful IMO.

I don't like the Sheath either. The texture is "rough" but it doesn't add grip at all--it's like fake grip. It's even worse during the colder months. I'm not a fan of the look of it either.

I'd rather get a Spigen Rugged Armor than the Sheath any day!

This might not be what you're looking for but you should check out the UAG Monarch. It's not a dual layer per say, but it protects like one since it has the back brace, which absorbs shocks if you ever drop it--not to mention the corners are slightly beefed up without making the case look ugly. Good honey comb pattern grips on that sides that are functional and look cool, so you won't drop it in the first place. Great buttons, great lip around the screen with a screen protector.

It's a very "masculine" looking phone case... so if that doesn't bother you, I would absolutely recommend it. I think it looks awesome and it's very protective without being Defender Pro level of bulky. You can also get it in a leather version to make it look more "classy" for every day use vs the Carbon Fiber look.

THIS. I tried it last year to see what the hype was about and ended up collecting dust. It just was like a bar of soap for me.

Use to love these. Have they fixed the sag this year?

Yep, cheap and overpriced for what it is imo, I also tried the synthesis last year as suppose to have better grip on the sides, bit nope still slippery, also fell apart after 2 months.
I am done with caudabe.

Yes it does, it uses the 3 "bumpers" on the corners that are slightly elevated and the camera protector ring to level it out to be flat.

I see there is a Kevlar version too, which did you get?
Ahh I almost got the Kevlar but I went with the all black leather version because I love the blacked out stealth look. I feel it's more blacked out than even the carbon fiber version too since it doesn't "sparkle" in the light as much. Kevlar looks awesome though.

lol, if you're in the US, keep an eye out on Best Buy's app. They'll randomly have it on sale for some unknown reason on their app. I got mine for $34 one day when looking at their app. With Black Friday and the Holiday season coming up, it would be worth it to hunt for a sale!

I don't know why but the Monarch's are one of the very few large cases I like to switch to a lot. I think it's just because it feels so premium. And I don't even like big cases, I prefer Apple leather type of slim or less.

I am in Australia, no Best Buy here. Best I can find is $71AUD.

Any suggestions for a good case which compliments a white (Starlight) 13 mini?

Not sure I'm a fan of using it with a clear case and most colours look too much of a mismatch with the white. Even black cases don't look quite 'right'.

This is the second year in a row that the Caudabe Sheath isn't my favorite case. I still recommended it last year, but I can't this year. I think a lot of other case makers have finally caught up.

Have to say- the more I use my defender pro xt the more I like it. It’s a little tall, but it’s not much thicker than my other cases , only slightly more so than my sheath. (From front to back of the phone)

I'm on board with the unpopular opinion of the Sheath. I haven't tried this year's version but I got one last year and after using it for a day it was sent back. I can see the appeal because it's a nice fitting case but Apple's leather had it beat in every metric.

I started with Apple leather in Midnight this year because that's what I always end up using and so far have not purchased any additional cases. Gotta say I'm proud of that. The only problem is I've found I prefer the 13 Pro with no case so still money wasted.
